7 CONTINENTS BEFORE AGE 7: Part 1 of 3 Sleeping in Igloos and Exploring with Dolphins

We're thrilled to partner with Lindblad Expeditions to visit Falkland Islands, South Georgia and ANTARCTICA!

We're on board the National Geographic Explorer on a 21 day journey down to some of the most southern parts of this world. This video is 1 of 3 from our journey! Check out Lindblad Expeditions!

Also, Bucket List Friendly currently get some incredible deals (20% off!) Patagonia, Arctic and Iceland itineraries.

Embark with us, The Bucket List Family, as we set sail for an extraordinary family travel adventure to the Falkland Islands, a journey that holds a special place in our hearts for more reasons than one. It's not just any trip; it's a monumental occasion where our youngest, Cali, steps onto his 7th continent before his 7th birthday. This adventure is the beginning of a thrilling three-part series that will take us from the rugged terrains of the Falklands to the icy wonders of Antarctica.

The Falkland Islands is also where Cali learned to walk! -

From the moment we boarded the National Geographic Explorer, we were plunged into a whirlwind of excitement, laughter, and a touch of seasickness. Traveling with my family, watching my children marvel at the world around them, is an experience unlike any other. This trip was filled with unforgettable moments, from exploring the ship with Manila and Cali to sharing in their amazement at the wildlife and landscapes we encountered. One of the most surreal experiences was when we spent a night in an igloo in the Arctic. Lying there, under the never-setting sun, surrounded by the stark beauty of the ice, was a moment of pure magic that I'll treasure forever.

The Falkland Islands greeted us with its rugged beauty and an abundance of wildlife that left us in awe. Observing Caracara and Albatross up close, and sharing these moments with my family, was truly special. Yet, it's the simple things that often leave the deepest imprint on our hearts. Like finding a playground remembered from our last visit, which somehow became the highlight for my kids amid the vast wilderness. It's these moments of joy and discovery through their eyes that make every trip worth it.

Stay with us as this journey unfolds, from the windswept beauty of the Falkland Islands to the majestic icebergs of Antarctica. This adventure is more than just ticking off a new destination; it's about making memories, facing challenges together, and teaching my kids about the world's vast beauty and diversity. Subscribe to our channel for the rest of this unforgettable journey. The world is vast, and its wonders are endless. Join us as we explore, learn, and grow as a family, one continent at a time.

Check out my new book with National Geographic called Bucket List Family Travel that finally published! You can purchase it anywhere books are sold.

Until next time, keep exploring and living your own bucket list dreams!

Garrett & Jess!

7 Days in Antarctica (Journey to the South Pole)

Watch this video to see what it’s like to spend 7 Days in Antarctica on my Journey to the South Pole and to travel in Antarctica!

In this Antarctica Travel Vlog, you’ll see what it’s like to fly from Cape Town to Antarctica’s only private jet runway and then spend a week flying around Antarctica’s Queen Maud Land. You’ll see the luxury accommodations provided by White Desert, the incredible airplanes operating in this unforgiving environment.

We’ll fight hurricane force winds and negative 35 degree temperatures in order to visit a spot on the map that’s nearly impossible to reach. Along the way, we’ll see what it’s like to spend a week on the coldest, driest, and windiest continent.

The South Pole is the southernmost point on planet earth and that, in and of itself, is enough for me to want to visit, but there’s more. Fewer than 500 tourists visit each year. Even if everything goes perfectly – which of course it won’t – getting there just isn’t easy.

We'll fly on an Airbus A340 to Antarctica and then onboard a specially modified DC-3 called a Basler as we answer the question can you travel to Antarctica (and beyond)?

Discovering the 7th Continent: Antarctic voyage on board of World Explorer. Part 1 - The Ship

In March 2024 we embarked on a ship called World Explorer and sailed south to visit the most remote and least explored continent on Earth. This trip was in the making for the last 2 years with tickets booked 18 months in advance. The ship is operated by a company called Quark Expeditions with this voyage being the last in the season. This is part 1 of the series that will cover our trip to the 7th continent, with this video covering the day of embarkation and the first impression of the ship. Overall we are extremely happy with our trip and extremely grateful for the opportunity to visit Antarctica and meet such extraordinary people along the way.

Antarctica - the 7th continent

This video was shot in December 2018 - the onset of summer in the Antarctic peninsula.

We started from Ushuaia in Argentina aboard the Ocean Endeavor and crossed the Drake Passage on our way to the Antarctic peninsula. This is the first video I have shot and uploaded on Youtube, so please excuse if this doesn't meet expectations. I just hope it is enough to inspire you to travel to this most wonderful place on Earth and experience raw nature like never before..

Antarctica, The Seventh Continent Information Session! Join Us.

Have you always dreamed of an Antartica expedition?

Antarctica is an incredible destination with the power to transform those who are fortunate enough to experience it. At Prince Adventures, powered by Quark Expeditions, we’ve been delivering transformational polar experiences for three decades, and in that time we’ve realized that the more personalized an expedition is, the more enriching the experience will be.

Antarctica has been inspiring explorers for centuries—now it’s your turn. Be among the first guests on our pioneering new vessel, Ultramarine. This purpose-built vessel is designed to extend the boundaries of polar exploration and offer an unmatched Antarctic experience, including a flightseeing tour you’ll never forget and a range of adventure options more extensive than any other ship in its class.

Join us for our live stream with Cara from Quark Expeditions a leader in polar expeditions for this one of a kind information session. For any questions please direct them to Jakki our Chief Epic Officer at travel@princeadventures.com

See you soon!
