Moldova - the least visited and one of the poorest countries in Europe. A country most of us know nothing about. But we wanted to travel here and find out what the real Moldova is like, beyond the continuous negative news headlines in the west. So we booked a last minute flight from London to Romania and then crossed the border in to Moldova, where we travelled on to the capital Chisinau, to explore the country and try to learn more about this little known country on the edge of eastern Europe. It is the cheapest and least visited country in Europe and i can attest to that! We enjoyed our time in Romania but while Mandy is waiting for the next stage of her dental treatment (first stage video coming soon!), we've decided to see more of the region.
First stop - the Republic of Moldova! Said to be the poorest and less-visited country in Europe, it seemed perfect to visit in November and see how quiet this country is.
We're so impressed with Chisinau! It ticks so many boxes for us... Soviet architecture, trolleybuses, beautiful parks, easy to walk around, good supermarkets, reasonable prices...
We're suprised though at how busy our hostel is as it's been almost completely full every night... full of all these people wanted to visit the least-visited country in Europe ;)
I'm so impressed by this lovely city and think it doesn't deserve the bad rap, so will be making a video every day... a first for me (Mandy) as I still have footage from Astana last year to work on... and it's changed its name since then!

Chișinău | We Explore Europe's Least Visited Capital City | Moldova Travel Vlog
Chișinău, capital of Moldova is a real gem of a city, which not many tourists seem to visit. Moldova is one of the least visited countries in Europe and although the lack of development can be seen while exploring Chișinău it also has a richness in wonderful and varied architecture, interesting history a great central market and very friendly local people! People from Moldova are really lovely people!
While here, we enjoyed exploring the centre of the city, taking in the main sights of the Church of the Nativity, The Triumphal Arch, some interesting Monuments and we even ventured further out to see the Chişinău State Circus building which really as a sight! We highly recommend Moldova for people who are looking for something different!

First Impressions of Chisinau , Moldova . Least Explored Capital city.
Until 23 May 1991, Moldova was officially known as the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova.
Upon the collapse of the Soviet Union in August 1991, this republic declared its independence and took the name Moldova. It became a member of the United Nations in 1992.
Today Moldova is a separate country that is located in an Eastern Europe.
It is my first day in Chisinau - a beautiful capital city of Moldova. They say that it is least visited city in Europe. Well, whoever hasn't visited Chisinau yet, is missing it. A very beautiful country and the city and the weather simply complimented my trip and made it even more unforgettable and memorable.
The city is absolutely gorgeous and has a lot to offer to tourists.
In this video I am visiting the cathedral park and the main cathedral of the Moldovan Orthodox Church - The Cathedral of Christ's Nativity.
Next to the cathedral there is a Triumphal arch that was built in 1840 to commemorate the overthrow of the Ottoman Turks by the Russian Empire in 1828. And opposite the Triumphal Arch there is a Government House.

Exploring the POOREST and LEAST VISITED Country in EUROPE | CHISINAU, MOLDOVA City Tour
Welcome to Moldova, the least visited country in Europe. Most people would not have heard of this country (including me) and so I'm so intrigued and excited to see what Moldova has to offer.
Because of being the least visited country in Europe, Moldova retains a measure of roads-less-travelled charm. It's certainly not on everyone's travel list but Moldova has been opening up to tourists with budget flights from Western Europe. If you're keen on finding out if Moldova is worth visiting, join me in this video.
Moldova is also the poorest country in Europe. Although Ukraine might have taken this spot now because of the ongoing invasion. I heard that most of the young people have left Moldova in search for a greener pasture abroad. I also heard that Moldova is making substantial progress on its IT sector trying to persuade the younger generation to stay.
Because of its location, it has been fought over by the likes of the Ottomans, Russians, Romanians, and more. In 1940, the Soviets invaded Moldova and then four months later a 7.3 magnitude earthquake decimated Chisinau. And if that wasn't enough, in 1941 the Germans attacked Chisinau, bombing an destroying what little was left. And so Moldova's capital, Chisinau, has a reputation of being the ugliest capital city in Europe.
It does sound like all the odds are against Moldova, but is it really that bleak of a country and is Chisinau really that ugly?
