Buddhist Temple In Hawaii? YES PLEASE!
Join us as we Trip Out to a treasure! On one of our many trip outs while in Hawaii, We discoverd a beautiful Temple in Kaneohe, Oahu. Just off Kahekili Hwy & up the road in The Valley of the Temple Memorial Park you can find the magnificent Byodo-In Temple nestled at the end of the road in the jungle hills of Oahu east side of the Island. the Temple is a replica of a 900 year old Bugghist Temple in Kyoto, Japan. The Temple is huge, yet quiet and breath taking. The energy surrounding is fulfilling, You can take a cool relaxing walk around Swan Temple Lake just in front of the Temple coupled with zen gardens, lots of giant koi fish, rare black swans birds flying & chirping, and a HUGE peace bell you can gong to release all the bad energy while cleansing your soul. Once you complete your walk around you can enter the inside where you are greeted by a HUGE 18 Ft.(5.5m) statue of the Lotus Buddha. Make an incense prayer offering (free) and/or walk about inside & check all the urns laid about. The entire temple area is a self guided tour. a beautiful shrine & small waterfall awaits in the back of the temple, a great place to calm the mind, quiet your thoughts, take in all the surrounding nature. We highly recommend visiting The Byodo-In Temple if you're ever in Oahu, Hawaii! -TripOutTravelers.
