Discovering the secret 8th continent. According to scientists this is the secret 8th continent of the world: Zealandia...and according to the BBC, they only recently discovered its existence. Somehow New Caledonia is hated by many vloggers and even though its an island paradise, filled with stunning beaches and the local people are some of the most friendly people you could meet.
New Caledonia is France’s Australia, where they copied the English and set up a prison colony in an island far away.
It is a small island, so Noumea the capital is not the same as a large capital city that we are used to.

LAU ISLANDS, FIJI - We’re in the remote Lau Islands group in Fiji, only accessible by boat, and today we’re going to Vuaqava Island, where they are known for their coconut crabs!
First of all, thank you to my friend Andhy Blake for arranging my trip to Fiji: and to Captain Cook Cruises ( for taking us on this once in a lifetime Fiji cruise.
We docked near the uninhabited Vuaqava Island, Lau Islands, Fiji, which is known for its natural beauty, incredible seas, and also for being an island full of coconut crabs! Coconut crabs are definitely unique, and they are a huge delicacy in Fiji and for the local population on the Lau Islands. They all mentioned that they coconut crabs are so tasty and so delicious that they don’t need any extra seasoning or cooking - all you have to do is boil them for about 10 - 15 minutes and eat. The crabs eat mostly a diet of coconut, so they have a sweet coconut taste to them, and the fat in the stomach (similar to the tomalley on other crabs), is like a natural coconut crab pudding with a complexity of flavor. It was an amazing experience to be with local Fijians on a remote island eating coconut crab.
Next up on this Fijian crab tour we visited another island - Totoya Island, Lau Islands, Fiji where we had the honor to cook and eat another Fijian food delicacy of land crabs, cooked in coconut milk. The crabs were boiled then fully deshelled, then mixed with onions and chiles, and lots of coconut milk, and re-filled back into their shells. They were boiled again until the coconut milk thickened into a creamy crab sauce. You eat them with a fresh squeeze of local lime and chili, and it’s something truly magically delicious.

We stoped at Noumea New Caledonia fro 2 days off the Nowegian Jewel where we were able to explore the island a little more. We were only suppose to say here for 1 day, but because of the Coronavirus our itinerary was changing daily. We had fun at Duck Island however theres not much to see or do in Noumea it is a quiet island for simply relaxation.

With the Windsurfing World Cup scheduled for the end of November in Noumea, María Andrés and Lena Erdil decided to head to New Caledonia early and explore this beautiful country whilst preparing for the last world cup event of the year.
Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it is obviously a very exotic destination. But what is amazing is not only the colors, the vegetation, the clear waters or the waves. The atmosphere in New Caledonia is unique for many other reasons, with this short clip we hope to share some of the amazing New Cal vibes with all of you!!

On vous emmène dans la suite de notre voyage autour de la Nouvelle Caledonie et de ses îles. Après les premiers épisodes sur l’Ile des Pins et la Grande Terre, départ pour Lifou aujourd’hui. Une des 3 Iles Loyautés appartenant à la Nouvelle Calédonie (accompagnée d’Ouvéa et de Maré).
Appelée DREHU dans la langue kanake locale, LIFOU est la plus grande des Iles Loyautés. Elle fait environ la même taille que la Martinique, pour 9200 habitants contre 370 000 en Martinique !!!

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be asked to be among a group of women to go to New Caledonia and work with Tourism and help raise awareness for the country/destination, as well as highlighting and learning about eco/ocean conservation.
It was 5 days, of adventure, fun, connection, femininity, ocean loving and exploring, nature walks, photography, story telling, story sharing, vulnerability,and humanity at it's finest.
There is something so indescribably raw and beautiful about being surrounded by pure feminine energy. it's both healing, and heart warming to be able to express and share so honestly and openly knowing that your sisters have your back, and are there for you, just as you are there for them.
This was an immeasurably powerful trip, and I am so honoured and thankful to have had the opportunity.

Noumea, New Caledonia - the museum of New Caledonia in Noumea. Let's go for a complete tour of this fascinating museum located in the beautiful capital of New Caledonia, the city of Noumea, and let's look at the ancient artifacts that are being displayed.
The museum exhibits one of the most beautiful collections of Kanak art in the world, especially monumental sculptures, and the most complete from the point of view of the themes it addresses. It also has a remarkable collection of Pacific Island objects ranging from West Papua to Eastern Polynesia, inviting visitors to discover a collection of rich societies. Vanuatu is particularly well represented.
The museum of New Caledonia is ideally located: Moselle bay, close to the municipal market of Nouméa, it is close to the city center and its picturesque place.
