2013 Key West Fantasy Fest Parade

Diana Nyad starred in the Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest parade, the highlight of Key West's 10-day costuming and masking festival that ended Sunday. The Saturday night parade drew some 60,000 spectators and featured more than 40 motorized floats, bands and marching groups in elaborate costumes promenading through Key West's historic downtown. Its grand marshal was Nyad, 64, who recently swam from Cuba to Key West. She rode on a float commemorating her triumphant arrival near Key West's landmark Southernmost Point marker, surrounded by marchers dressed as jellyfish. Fantasy Fest 2014 is themed Animéted Dreams & Adventures and is scheduled Oct. 17-26.

2013 Key West Pride Parade

Thousands of people lined Duval Street to see this year's Key West Pride Parade commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Sea to Sea Rainbow Flag. The parade was led by KWPD Chief Donie Lee and included dozens of local dignitaries plus first-time entries from the Salvation Army, the VFW, and The Key West Citizen. It was a fantastic parade!
