Best NASI LEMAK in Singapore? FAMOUS Singaporean Hawker Food! Street Food Tour at NEWTON FOOD CENTRE

Nasi Lemak is definitely one of my favorite comfort foods in Singapore & Malaysia. From the cheapest and tastiest bungkus to the more high end ones. It's all about the fragrant rice, umami-packed sweet/tangy/spicy sambal, crunchy peanut-anchovy combo, freshly cooked proteins to go with each set, and cooling cucumber slices. In this video, we will get to try the newest Nasi Lemak stall at Newton Food Centre. Owned & run by Chef Shen Tan, a celebrity chef who has mastered the same recipe for 12 years. Also famous for her modern Singaporean dishes which are all very creative! We were privileged to try her Nasi Lemak creations and even a vegan option too! And for my muslim friends, their Halal certification is on the way!♥♥♥

This Episode Features

Singapore street food tour MICHELIN Bib Gourmand 2022 edition, let’s GO! We only visited 9 out of 67 Singapore Michelin Bib Gourmand 2022 spots but surely they are worth trying when you are planning your trip / travel to Singapore.

1) Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice at Maxwell Food Centre
One of the best Hainanese chicken rice we’ve ever eaten. If you are in Singapore, you need to try chicken rice which unofficially national dish of Singapore.

2) Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice at Chinatown Complex
Be prepared to wait for about 1 hour for this claypot rice. We suggest to order mixed rice that comes with chicken, pork sausage, salted fish

3) J2 Famous Crispy Curry Puff at Amoy Street Food Centre
S$1.80 for the crispy curry potato chicken puff, freshly cooked and it’s perfect for snack

4) Hong Kee Beef Noodle at Amoy Street Food Centre
Two options to choose soup or dry beef noodle. Whilst our preference is fully packed beefy noodle soup, this place serves clear and mild beef noodle soup.

5) A Noodle Story at Guoco Tower & Amoy Street Food Centre
From humble beginning in hawker centre stall at Amoy Street Food Centre, this Singaporean style ramen earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for 7 consecutive years.

6) Eminent Frog Porridge at Geylang
Well known spot to have frog even among local Singaporeans. Frog legs cooked in different sauces from Gong Bao (dried chili), Spring Onion, Chinese Essence, Chinese Herb Soup and paired with plain porridge. Both frog legs & plain porridge are cooked in claypot which make them so aromatic and super flavorful. We tried the Gong Bao with their promotion “buy 2 get 1 free” and did not regret it at all.

7) Tai Wah Pork Noodle at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre
Hong Lim hawker centre is conveniently located not far from Chinatown Singapore. Tai Wah pork noodle is famous for bak chor mee that translates to minced meat noodles. Egg noodle tossed in vinegar, soy sauce, minced meat, pork slices, pork meatball and lard.

8) Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
Bak Kut Teh means “meat bone tea” - basically pork rib dish cooked in broth of herbs and spices, known for health benefits. Song Fa Bak Kut Teh have many branches across Singapore and their broth is sweet peppery rather than herbal flavour.

9) Unagi Tei formerly known Man Man Japanese Unagi at Keong Saik Rd
One of the best unagi dish we have tried outside Japan. Unagi Tei is famous for hitsumabushi, Nagoya specialty dish.

Street Food Singapore!! 5 Hawker FOODS INVENTED in Singapore - with KF Seetoh!

???? Ultimate Singapore Chilli Crab Tour:
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!
???? KF Seetoh:

SINGAPORE - Today I’m hanging out with the one and only KF Seetoh, a legend of Singapore street food and hawker culture. We’re going to take you on a born and bred food tour of Singapore - dishes that were invented right here in Singapore.

Here are all the places we ate at in this Singapore food tour:

Bak Kee Teochew Satay Bee Hoon ( - First we headed to Bukit Merah, also known as Red Hill. It’s a huge neighborhood complex, market and hawker center. There’s a massive selection of food to choose from, but KF Seetoh took me first to eat satay bee hoon, or thin angel hair vermicelli covered in seafood and pork, and a ladle of creamy peanut sauce.

Hong Seng Curry Rice ( - Within the same Red Hill hawker centre you’ll find Hong Seng Curry Rice, where you can enjoy another popular Singapore street food - Hainanese curry rice.

Geylang Lorong 29 Hokkien Mee ( - Continuing on this food tour we drove over to Geylang to eat one of the best versions of Hokkien fried prawn mee, a stir fried noodle dish that’s one of the most beloved in Singapore. They make it by the batch and we had the chance to see the entire process of how it’s made. Delicious!

The Original Vadai ( - Next up over to Joo Chiat to eat at the Original Vadai - a Sri Lankan origin - yet transformed in Singapore to be more light and fluffy, totally different texture and flavor. They are so addictive and one of the best things about them is that you bite a green chili and then follow it with bites of the prawn vadai.

Sha Zah Confectionery ( - Finally to complete this food tour with KF Seetoh we headed over to Sha Zah Confectionery for their giant curry puffs. A perfect way to end this delicious Singapore street food tour!

Thank you again to KF Seetoh for taking me around. Be sure to follow his food adventures: and if you’re in NYC, go eat at Urban Hawker center!

Famous Singaporean Food - Adam Road NASI LEMAK in Singapore!

Adam Road Nasi Lemak is a legendary Singapore hawker food stall!
►Subscribe to my channel for more videos:
►Check out my full blog of Adam Road Nasi Lemak:
►Singapore Travel Guide:

One of the most famous food stalls in Singapore that serves nasi lemak is Adam Road Nasi Lemak - the official name being Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak. So one day, it was my goal to go there.

But before going to Adam Road food centre, I first met up with Tuah who I met in Singapore, and he offered to take us to the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. Marina Bay Sands is one of the most iconic hotels in Singapore, home to a massive boat shaped structure at the top of three towers. At the top is the iconic infinity edge swimming pool on one side, which is only open to guests, but on the other side, it’s open and called the Skypark where visitors can pay an entrance fee and go to the top for a view over Singapore. The view over Singapore was pretty amazing, and although an expensive attraction, it was a great view of the city and harbor.

After finishing at Marina Bay Sands, we headed over to the Botanic Gardens MRT station and walked to Adam Road food centre, where the famous nasi lemak stall is located. I could immediately see the long line of people waiting in line - there were about 50 or so people ahead of us, and we jumped in line and decided to wait it out - luckily I didn’t have anything else to do that day.

We finally got our plates of nasi lemak, and I ordered the Royal Rumble, the plate of nasi lemak including a bit of everything they had. The rice, which was basmati long grain, was cooked with coconut milk so it had a rich and very fluffy texture to it. The rice was very fragrant. The other parts of the Adam Road Nasi Lemak included otak otak, a fried chicken wing, an egg, and fried mackerel and the sambal. Everything else was pretty standard tasting to me, but it was the rice that was the best thing on the place. Adam Road food centre in Singapore is a very nice and calm hawker centre that has lots of good food. So even if you don’t go for the nasi lemak, there are still some other delicious Malay foods to try when you go.

Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak (better known as Adam Road Nasi Lemak)
Address: 2 Adam Rd, #01-02, Adam Road Food Centre, Singapore
Open hours: 7 am – 5 pm (closed on Friday)
Prices: The plate I ate was $5.50 SGD
How to get there: Take the MRT to Botanic Gardens, and Adam Road Food Centre is just a 5 minute walk away.

Famous Singapore NASI LEMAK at Adam Road Food Center! ????????

Today we discover some of the best Singapore Food in one of the many Hawkers centres scattered around the city.
Hawker food in Singapore is one of the things that has always been fascinating for me. It's not only about having unlimited food options in one big food centre, but also about the fact that these huge complexes hide antique recipes and heritage street foods cooked by old grandpas and aunties, that have remained intact for generations. Not only that, but all this authentic Singaporean cuisine comes, in these hawker centres, at a very cheap price.

There is a lot of stuff that we are going to try during this Singapore trip, but the highlights of this food vlog are going to be:
1) Nasi Lemak, at the famous Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak; this is the iconic Malaysian/Singaporean coconut-flavoured rice dish;
2) One of the most amazing Mutton leg soup I've ever tried;
3) A huge bowl of flavoured Singapore Laksa; you may have seen me eating Laksa when I was in Penang, but that was the sour Laksa (Asam Laksa) while this one is sweet coconutty.
4) A refreshing Chinese dessert based on longan fruit and grass jelly.

Here is the place, for those interested in reaching it ????
it is close to the Botanic Gardens in Singapore, so I would suggest you to couple the two things!
