BRAȘOV City Tour In TRANSYLVANIA, ROMANIA | TourYes Family Travels
Brașov (pronounced Bra-shov), known as Kronstadt in German or Brassó in Hungarian, is the 7th largest city in Romania. Because of its surrounding mountain resorts it became as the most visited city in Transylvania, Romania. It is often referred to as the city at the foot of Mount Tampa.
Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, as well as a wealth of historical attractions.

Romania, Village Life in Transylvania
A beautiful little documentary of village life in Gyimes, in the South Eastern Carpathians in 2018. Ancient, vernacular, small farm-houses line the stoned side roads on which horse-drawn vehicles carry logs, hay, stone and people this way and that all day long. Most people live by small-scale farming producing their own honey, cheese, bread, veg and fruit, milk and meat. Water is always from the well, pure, sparkling and cold. Cows and sheep wear bells and high above the village the mountain meadows hum with insect life while the extraordinarily rich flora remains untouched by sprays and chemicals.
Szekler people, Romania's Hungarian speaking minority live in Gyimes, which now lies within Bacau county. The history of the area and its association with Transylvania, is very complicated .... I am no historian and apologise for any errors I have made.

We Explored Transylvania in Romania | Most Scenic Train + Corvins Castle

The time has arrived we are finally heading into Transylvania and wow do we have a fun episode today including going on Romania's most scenic train ride, staying in some Transylvania log cabins and heading to our first Romanian castle.
After waking up at our little village hotel we had an incredible breakfast before making our way out to Oravita train station to catch an incredibly beautiful train ride from Oravita to Anina which takes 2 hours on one of the oldest trains in the country.
There we carried onto our accommodation - the Transylvania Log Cabins:

In the morning we went around the farmlands to collect ingredients for our breakfast - fresh milk, eggs and local cheeses.
We then headed out to Corvin's castle to explore our very first Transylvania Romanian castle.

A Tour of Bran (DRACULA) Castle / Transylvania / Romania [ 4K ]
Bran, also known as Dracula's Castle is Romania’s most visited landmark. It is located in the village of Bran, about 30 km from Brasov. The video shows a tour of Dracula castle.
The Castle owes its fame to its history, imposing towers, and the myth created around Bram Stocker's fictitious character Dracula.
It's widely believed that Vlad III Dracula (Wallachian Prince), known by the nickname Vlad the Impaler, has served as an inspiration for Stoker’s character, Count Dracula. In 1992, it was released Bram Stoker's Dracula horror film directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
Since Bran Castle is the only castle in Transylvania that fits Bram Stoker’s description of Dracula’s Castle, it has gained the fame of being Dracula’s Castle.
However, Bran Castle was not home of Vlad III. It is believed that he might have never been at that place. The real residence of Vlad III Dracula is the castle Poenari, in the county of Arges, Romania. The castle has long been abandoned, now it's in ruins.
Today, Bran is open as a museum, largely devoted to Queen Marie, the British wife of King Ferdinand I of Romania. From 1920 to 1948 Bran Castle served as a royal residence. You will see on display art and furniture collected by Queen Marie.
You can also buy extra tickets to see the medieval torture instruments exhibition and the Time tunnel where an interesting multimedia show is played.

Best Of Transylvania: This Is BRASOV! (Romania Travel Vlog)
Medieval Brasov is one of Romania's most beautiful cities, right in the middle of the Carpathian mountains. Brasov is very picturesque and located in Transylvania (yes, it's where Dracula lives). It has maintained its medieval character throughout the centuries. Even though it is quite popular, it is a very relaxing and scenic city. Oh and Kim had been waiting for days to try out this great Romanian dessert (it involved a lot of cream, red fruit coulis and a super gooey filling...) - and we found the perfect spot in Brasov to try it!

Hanul lui Manuc, an iconic destination in Bucharest, Romania, stands as a historical monument and vibrant hub for leisure activities. Originally constructed in 1808 by Emanuel Mrzaian, also known as Manuc Bei, it served as a caravanserai, providing shelter and amenities to travelers and merchants along their journeys. By the mid-19th century, Manuc's Inn had become Bucharest's most important commercial complex. It housed 15 wholesalers, 23 retail stores, 107 office or living rooms, two receiving rooms, and a pub. It served as a bustling hub for trade and commerce in the city.
Today, it remains one of the few surviving caravanserais in Bucharest, nestled in the heart of the Old Town district.
The inn's rich history spans centuries, witnessing pivotal moments in Romanian and European history. Renowned as a gathering place for both foreign travelers and the Romanian elite, it hosted significant political discussions and events, including the Union of Romania with Transylvania and Bucovina.
After the Russo-Turkish War, Manuc moved with his family to the Hânceti estate, which made it difficult for him to fully benefit from the inn. Consequently, he decided to sell it.
While retaining its essential structure, the inn has undergone several renovations over the years.
The most recent restoration took place in 2007. Efforts have been made to restore it to its original purpose of being a great place for leisure and social gatherings.
Presently, it houses the esteemed Hanu' lui Manuc restaurant.Known for its traditional Romanian cuisine, the restaurant offers a dining experience that harks back to the ambiance of the past caravanserais, making it a must-visit attraction for tourists exploring the city.
Despite its tumultuous past, Hanu' lui Manuc stands today as a testament to Bucharest's history and a vibrant culinary destination, inviting visitors to savor its unique atmosphere and flavors.
