I flew into Minsk at the beginning of October and was on one of the only two flights arriving on that day. I was eligible for a 30-day visa-free as long as I enter and exit the country through Minsk International airport. I booked a $19 room in a shared apartment with a window overlooking the train passed by.

The first 48 hours of my solo travel were merely observing and absorbing this new environment. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous or anxious about coming to Belarus. I sensed fear in me, from the news that I consumed while researching and the uncertainty that came along with it. While fear is important to keep us alert, I know that every country has different layers to unravel. Through my solo travel, I hope to showcase the other side of Belarus.

ABOUT ME:
Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time traveling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.

Having initially traveled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.

Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time YouTube creator and traveler. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.

Belarus Travel | Best Things to Do in Minsk with Vlada by City Report Channel

Hey guys! Welcome to City Report and in today’s Belarus Travel, Vlada will inform us about Best Things to Do in Minsk.
Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic States of Lithuania and Latvia. Its capital and most populous city is Minsk.
In the aftermath of the 1917 Russian Revolution, Belarus declared independence, but was later conquered by Soviet Russia in 1922. Belarus declared independence in 1990. Alexander Lukashenko has served as the country's president since 1994. He has been labeled Europe's last dictator for his authoritarian leadership. Political opposition has been violently suppressed, press freedom curbed, and Belarus is the only European country to retain capital punishment. Here you can find an automatic compilation of all DW content referring to Belarus.
Belarus offers much more to travellers than you could ever fit into a single visit. The culture, outdoor activities, cuisine and historical sites will keep even the most experienced traveller busy.
Minsk will almost certainly surprise you. The capital of Belarus is, contrary to its dreary reputation, a progressive, modern and clean place. Fashionable cafes, impressive restaurants and crowded nightclubs vie for your attention, while sushi bars and art galleries have taken up residence in a city centre once totally remodelled to the tastes of Stalin. Despite the strong police presence and obedient citizenry, Minsk is a thoroughly pleasant place that's easy to become fond of.

Travel to Minsk. Life in Belarus today. Interesting facts.

There several ways to get from Moscow to Minsk. You can go by plane, train or by bus or car.
Trains for Minsk depart from the Belorussky railway station, which is obvious judging by the name.
And the Belorussky railway station is located in the very center of the Russian capital, so if you arrive early and have time, you can spend it in one of the many coffee houses.

My train is called Lastochka (swallow). Lastochka trains are with seats only and they are common in Moscow region.
It takes around 7 hours to get to Minsk.
Of course, 7 hours is not a little, considering that the distance between Moscow and Minsk is about 700 kilometers. Compared to Japan, the situation is not so rosy. For example, a shinkansen (bullet train) covers the distance of about 500 km between Tokyo and Osaka in around 3 hours. However, if you choose a train or a plane, I will prefer the train to travel to Minsk, since the road to and from the airport, check-in for a flight and other procedures take a lot of time and effort. And here you got on a train in the very center of Moscow, and no need to think about anything. The ticket price is….
Russian citizens do not need any additional documents or permits to enter Belarus. The thing is that Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia are members of the Customs Union, so moving between these countries is similar to the situation in the EU. Thus, a trip from Moscow to Minsk is like a trip within one country.
The first thing you see when you exit the Minsk central railway station are two 11-story towers in the Stalinist Empire style, adjacent to five-story buildings. The towers are called the Gates of Minsk, they were built in 1953. Ordinary people live in them: apartments were given to railway workers. A huge German-made clock is installed on one of the towers - it came to Belarus as a trophy after the Great Patriotic War. The dial diameter is 3.5 m, and the length of the minute hand is 1 m 69 cm. At first, the clock was mechanical, they were wound by hand several times a day. Later, the mechanism was replaced with a modern one. On the other tower is the coat of arms of the former Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. The Gate has become a symbol of the city and can be seen on stamps, postcards and magnets.
The Upper Town, or High Market, is the historical center of Minsk and one of the favorite places for tourists and residents of the city. This is the name of the area of Freedom Square and neighboring streets. The upper city began to be built up in the 16th century as a new center of Minsk, after the city suffered from fires and raids of the Crimean Tatars. Wealthy citizens lived here, and the area itself was surrounded by an earthen rampart.
The European spirit of the Belarusian capital is best felt in the Upper Town. People come here to admire the old buildings, sit in cozy cafes, listen to street musicians given the weather is good. The place also offers excellent spots for selfie shots.
In the Middle Ages, the trading square was located on the other bank of the river Svisloch.. Many buildings were demolished during the Soviet era. They were restored only in the second half of the 20th century. In 2004, the western part of the Trinity farmstead received a protected status.
Now Trinity farmstead is a popular tourist destination and a pleasant place for walking and photo shoots.
In everyday life the Russian language is widely used in Belarus. Also, in case the Belarusian language is used, it is easily understood by Russians.
In general, in Minsk you can feel the spirit of Soviet times. I have already spoken about the Soviet buildings opposite the station. If that wasn't enough for you, then visit the subway. It is not as majestic here as in Moscow, but it better conveys the spirit of the Soviet era. Look at this token - it's a real time travel! I thought they were already in the past, but no!! And this is superb!
The trains themselves are also of the old series and better convey the connection of eras.
Another place where you can plunge into postalgia for Soviet times is the central store. The sales system is organized like in the old Soviet times - from behind the counter. In addition, stucco and chandeliers also contribute to immersion in the past.
If we are talking about shopping, let's go to a department store in one Minsk residential areasp . As you can see, the assortment is in a wide range. To be honest, I do not see much difference with similar stores in large Russian cities. In addition, some brands are sold both in Russia and Belarus.
If you are in Minsk for the first time, you can easily take it for Las Vegas due to the large number of casinos. They are everywhere here. The gambling business in Belarus is flourishing. Guests from Russia come here, since in Russia casinos are allowed only in specially designated areas, which are limited.

What BELARUSIAN WOMEN really think about FOREIGN GUYS - SECRET REVEALED

#belarus #minskgirls #minskdate

It is difficult to make generalizations about what all Belarusian girls think of foreign guys, as opinions and preferences can vary greatly from person to person. However, in this video belarusian girls share what do they hold towards foreign guys:

Attracted to foreign cultures? Some Belarusian girls may be drawn to foreign guys because of their unique cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.

Open-minded? Belarusian girls who are open-minded may be more accepting of relationships with foreign guys and find these relationships to be exciting and enriching.

Language barriers? Some Belarusian girls may find foreign guys attractive, but may also be intimidated by language barriers or cultural differences.

Different expectations? Some Belarusian girls may be wary of foreign guys because they may have different expectations or beliefs about relationships, which can lead to misunderstandings.

It is important to keep in mind that these are generalizations and may not apply to every Belarusian girl. Attitudes and opinions can vary greatly from person to person, and it is always best to get to know someone on a individual level before making assumptions about their preferences or beliefs.
