We had NO IDEA how awesome Vancouver, Canada is! Great food, Asian influence, strong coffee, kind people, and today it was all topped off with beautiful fall weather! We spent the entire day biking around the city for the first time. We drove from our campsite in the middle of Vancouver to Stanley Island and drove along the beautiful coastline. Next we went to the Granville market for lunch and had a scary encounter in Chinatown. Lastly, we quickly checked out Gastown, then booked it home before the sunset on our bikes!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF TRAVELING VIA RAIL | Economy Class From Quebec City To Montreal

If you are thinking of exploring Canada and you don't have a car, you got two options: plane or train! (I mean yes, there's buses, but I don't think you want to sit on a bus for 10+ hours) Thus I thought it was about time I checked out Canada's main passenger train system which is the VIA RAIL! I was able to get a very budget friendly ticket from Quebec City to Montreal in economy class and I definitely think it was a much better option than flying. So if you are thinking of traveling throughout Canada by train anytime soon, I hope you will find this video helpful!

The travel health insurance I use - PassportCard Nomads:

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

Vancouver city is ranked as one of the most liveable cities in the world and when I was moving to Canada from Australia, the one city that was on the top of my Canada bucket list, was Vancouver.

British Columbia travel is regarded as one of the most beautiful in the world and I wanted to see it in person so I decided to take a flight from Toronto to Vancouver and spend 10 days in the city. I initially wanted to do a Toronto to Vancouver road trip and then got to know that there is a Toronto to Vancouver Train as well but I did not have the time for those.

In this Vancouver vlog, you will find everything you need to know to plan your own trip to Vancouver. We talk about Vancouver transit to how to get around Vancouver with and without a car, Vancouver's top attractions, tourist spots, Vancouver day trips, things to do in Vancouver, and some useful travel tips for Vancouver.

We start our journey from downtown Vancouver and move our way towards Squamish and other places. And you will find answers to the below questions:

- What is the best month to travel in Vancouver?
- How much money do I need for a week in Vancouver?
- How expensive is Vancouver?
- What time of year is cheapest to travel to Vancouver?
- How many days in Vancouver is enough?
- What is the rainiest month in Vancouver?
- Do you need a car in Vancouver?
- Is Vancouver a walkable city?
- How much money do you need in Vancouver?
- Is Vancouver expensive for tourists?
- Some bad parts of Vancouver?

???? A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF CANADA (Vancouver Travel Vlog)

VANCOUVER CANADA IS INSANE!!
Wow, Vancouver is incredible. If this city is anything like what we can expect from the rest of Canada then it looks like we're in for a good time!

Normally when we get into a new city we would immediately google something like 'things to do in Vancouver Canada' but in this case, we didnt! and are instead, very unprepared for this walk around Vancouver.

Vancouver is a modern city surrounded by snow-capped mountains yet somehow boasts incredible beaches, pedestrian walks and parks everywhere! We ended up getting some pretty incredible first impressions of Canada.

In our next video we scour Vancouver to find Vancouver's best food, so subscribe to keep updated!

If you enjoyed this Vancouver Vlog please give it a _thumbs up_ to help us grow!

City Guide of Vancouver / Best Things to Do in Vancouver Canada (1)

The first settlers in Vancouver were aboriginals.. First Nations people. So you’ll see First National artwork occasionally sprinkled in the airport and parts aro und the city.

Straight off int the airport I felt like a got a teaser of things to come in the city. Vancouver is bilingual. Although English is the native language, you will also see French on signs and packages as well. Due to its large Asian community, you may also see Asian languages too.

Credit card chip technology in .Vancouver is advanced , apparently you have to keep your credit card away from metro card reader or you may accidentally get charged.

As Canada's third rainiest city, with over 161 rainy days a year, local have lovingly nicknamed Vancouver… Raincouver. The good news is that while I was there, the rain seemed moderately light and misty and not torrential.

Vancouver is pedestrian friendly with more options for getting around than your average city. I love that.

Vancouver is a food lover’s city but I’ll get into that later. But what I didn’t realize is that it’s got a strong vegan and healthy conscious community. Maybe being a popular Hollywood filming location and the home of Lulu Lemon has something to do with Vancouver having a strong vegan and healthy oriented city.

Vancouver has a large Asian population thus, you’ll find a healthy dose of Asian influence in the foods. Keep an eye out for my Vancouver Food Tour Guide.

Vancouver is striving to be the top green city of North America by 2020. So you’ll find public recycling receptacles easily available. It also makes sure it communicates itself to those who cannot read. I love that they have pictures!

With the pristine wilderness as its next door neighbor only a bus ride away, Vancouver has great air quality. In fact, this fungus here, only grows where the air is pure. So breathe in a good dose and definitely take a trip outside the city

You will find a Tim Hortons (or Timmies) everywhere in British Columbia. It’s very popular coffee and donut shop in Vancouver and The coffee to get is a double double- ]double sugar, double cream. It’s what Dunkin Donuts is for Americans except it’s even more popular.

Thanks for watching! Let me know what you think of this video in the comments below. What about Vancouver would give you travel culture shock. Watch next week as I take you inside my solo travel adventures. Until then, maybe the grrr be with you.
