Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! As soon as I arrived in Dhaka, I am struck by the vibrant and chaotic atmosphere of the city. The streets are bustling with people, cars, and rickshaws, and the smells and sounds are a sensory overload. But despite the chaos, I found the people of Dhaka to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, my first impressions of Dhaka are extremely positive. The city is chaotic and overwhelming, but it is also full of life and energy. I can't wait to continue exploring and discovering more about this fascinating place. Stay tuned for more!

This was our first full day in Dhaka Bangladesh and our First Impressions were simply mind blowing. Dhaka City is intense and very fast paced with so much going on around you at all times which only adds to the experience and excitement.
Our first day was nothing short of crazy when we visited Old Dhaka and witnessed one of the most densely populated cities in the world with so many bicycle rickshaws, amazing foods and most of all, the most friendly locals around.
Bangladesh has started off on a high note and we can not wait to see what else Dhaka City has to offer. Here we share with you our First Impressions of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

BANGLADESH - My next country in South Asia ????????
Welcome to the middle of the chaos, pollution, overpopulation, and the land of smiling, super kind, and hard-working locals. Bangladeshi people have been very welcoming and curious since foreign tourism in the country is almost nonexistent.
Exploration started in the capital city - Dhaka - the tenth-largest and seventh-most densely populated city in the world. I love so many things about chaos, street noises, smells, the inability to walk in a straight line, and the new environment, which actives all my senses for survival. Dhaka's craziness exceeded any experiences I have ever had in any big city, including Old Delhi.
Travel in Bangladesh is unique. It’s not an easy or mainstream destination to travel to. Also, the visa process is not easy to process, and your shining western passport would not help much. But exploring the other side and avoiding the average has always been my goal with South Asia travel, which is exactly what makes Bangladesh so special.

Surviving the Most Crowded City in the World: Dhaka || Bangladesh Travel Vlog
With 170 million people living in a country just smaller than the size of Iowa, Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world. And right at its center is the mega city of Dhaka. ( Its energy pulls you in as soon as you leave the airport and are bombarded with all of the sounds and smells of an overcrowded city. )I flew in and out of the city a few times as I traveled through South Asia, and on one of my layovers, decided to brave the chaotic city for an afternoon. I felt like one of the only tourists in the city and was pleasantly surprised by how the mass of people seemed to flow seamlessly. The main attraction for me were the colorful bike rickshaws that gently stroll through the old part of the city adding color and the faint sound of its bell twinkling through the streets. There were a few stand out pink historic buildings giving the city charm and the mighty Buriganga river that brought the heart beat to the city. I am really glad I gave this city a chance for the afternoon, and here’s how it went.

WHO KNEW Bangladesh was THIS BEAUTIFUL?! Watching the sunrise from our boat as we drifted the floating local market is our favorite memory in Bangladesh.
After spending a couple days in the crazy capital of Dhaka, we took a 100 year old rocket paddle steamer boat overnight to the city of Barisal where we woke up before sunrise to catch all the action at the local river market!

Escaping protests and getting into the chaos of the most crowded city in the world, Dhaka, Bangladesh! Putting one of the weirdest things I have ever put in my mouth, Agun Pan!
Bangladesh is one of the least visited countries (per capita) in the world! Dhaka, it's capital being the worlds most crowded city.... so...I thought I would love to go enjoy myself some chaos! I met a local on my first day, Ibrahim, and he agreed to show me around the city! Turns out Bangladeshi people are big football fans and during the world cup the two teams they support are Brazil and Argentina. I had to cop me a Brazil shirt and celebrate in the streets with my fellow fans! We made our way to the ghats and onto a ferry to meet some kind locals. I had to close the day out with one of the most crazy things I've ever put in my mouth, agun pan - Candy, wrapped in betel leaf and set on fire! It was not that pleasant but I'm glad I gave it a try. I filmed A LOT in Bangladesh and I'm very excited to share these videos with the world!
