FestPac 2016- Guam's Opening Ceremony Performance

Had the great privilege of returning home for a visit after 14 years of being away. While there, Guam was host to the quadrennial Festival of Pacific Arts. This is the opening ceremony performance by Guam's performers. Great job to all involved and Señot Frank Rabon for leading the charge. It was taken with my cellphone. So, please forgive the shakiness.

This performance tells the Chamorro creation story; the legend of Puntan yan Fu'una.

WALLIS: The historic Tongan ???? Fort Talietumu (Wallis and Futuna, Pacific Ocean)

Fort Talietumu, Wallis island (Uvea), Pacific Ocean - the Tongan fort Talietumu on the island of Wallis of Wallis and Futuna in the Pacific Ocean. Let's travel to the island of Wallis in the Pacific Ocean and let's walk around the Tongan fort Talietumu located in the remote island of Wallis, of the French territory of Wallis and Futuna in the Pacific Ocean. This is the Tongan fort of Talietumu, built in the 1400s during the peak of the Tongan Empire in the Pacific.
The Tongan fort Talietumu or Kolo Nui is an archaeological site in Wallis and Futuna in the southwestern part of the Pacific Ocean.
Talietumu is situated about 9 km (5.6 mi) southwest of the capital of Mata-Utu and northeast of Halalo in the Mu'a district on Wallis Island (Uvea).
The Tongan fort Talietumu was a fortified Tongan settlement called Kolo Nui and the whole fortress is surrounded by a strong defensive wall build of basalt with several entrances.[2] Inside the fort there are a few preserved buildings and structures, lawns and the central elevated platform called Talietumu (a Marae or Mala´e, Sacred Place). The platform is of circular prolonged shape upon a circular stockade base. Raised walkways paved in stone start from the mala'e and radiate outward from within the fort.

Wallis and Futuna Promotion Video final (Clip 1) HD 1080p

Malo te lava mai / Malo le kaku mai

Wallis and Futuna released their final promotional video.
Our country videos are for our subscribers to enjoy.
Wallis offers a wide range of activities, but mainly nautical activities that will delight those who love the sea, especially sailing at the spot of «Vakala», the Tau'a'alo (Polynesian paddle) or diving south of the island of Wallis.

The islands of Wallis and Futuna are located near the equator and in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The result is a warm and humid climate, affected by the passage of tropical depressions.

The climate of Wallis and Futuna is humid tropical with temperatures around 30°C. The climate is very regular, with barely marked seasons. Minimum and maximum temperatures are generally ranged between 24°C and 31°C and average temperatures are always above 25.5°C.

As the archipelago is close to the equator, the temperature cycle is very weak in Wallis as in Futuna due to the low variability of sunshine throughout the year.
