Live and Work in Paradise - Cayman Islands FAQs

I get asked a lot of questions about living in the Cayman Islands. These are the questions I get the most as a resident, as well as those I think you should be asking.

My previous video, FAQs about Living In & Moving To the Cayman Islands, was released over four years ago. In that time I've been asked many questions. Most frequently, How much money can I make? But also questions on where to live, transport, what the job market is like and getting permanent residence. I wanted to take this opportunity to answer those most asked and also show off our beautiful island with every shot.

If you have more questions I'll answer them in the comments below.

The Downsides to Living in the Cayman Islands

While I love living in the Cayman Islands, no place in the world is perfect. In this video I share some of the less glamorous parts to living on this tropical island. Things that you wouldn't find in a glossy travel magazine. Of course, I am well aware that these are very minor, 'first world problems.' But they are things you should brace yourself for that not everyone would know when considering Grand Cayman or it's Caribbean sister islands as their future home. Now please excuse me whilst I soothe my island fever with a Cayman sunset.

Why You Should Move to the Cayman Islands

In the next few days I celebrate three years of living in the Cayman Islands. Over the last few years I've documented my joys and struggles on this channel, the highs and the lows. Moving to Cayman was tough at first, being far from family and friends, as well as a rough start in the job market here. At first I shared only the good things, but then I decided to be more open about the hard parts of moving to paradise. No place is perfect, and although I think Cayman comes pretty close it has its downsides too.

Originally I had thought making a video about the good side of Cayman was too obvious. And I had so many videos of me doing fun things in Cayman on my channel I thought they would cover them. But based on feedback on my videos, I decided this video was necessary. Not only to show how great this place is, but also to show appreciation for how good it has been to me.

Hope to see you on the island soon.

Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees

Living in the Cayman Islands as an Expat Family No Income Tax No Snow Just Beach and Palm Trees Plus pay off your student loans while living on a tropical island in the caribbean. Students and professionals are needed in the Cayman Islands to power the tourist and offshore investment economy. Many Expats from around the world live and work in the Cayman Islands for a few years at a time to live out the fantasy of tropical island living. We did it, we loved it and would recommend it. For a student with college debts it is the perfect way to earn tax free income and pay off large debts fast and also begin to save up cash for future studies, a long trip, or even a downpayment on a house. There are young people singles and couples who work a year or two and then travel the world. There are no rules, just dreams and endless possibilities. I never thought I could move to a tropical tax free island with my wife and 10 year old daughter, but we did it. Se sold off all the furniture, the car, and moved to the Cayman Islands. Once we got there it was easy to replace furniture and a car there. When we left the island a few years later, we sold the furniture and the car easily. Stuff is just stuff... But the memories and new friendships last forever. Plus the work experience comes in handy down the road as it looks good on a resume.

The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea. Known from the movies as the place where billionaires send there money, where hedge funds run and where criminals retire (which of course is largely a fantasy).

The island is full of brilliant, highly educated people in search of a good life style with good income. It doesn't hurt that it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. I originally came here to do auditing, and now work in healthcare on island.

Living in the Cayman Islands? Sure. Why not!

We explore what it would take to live in the Cayman Islands. You will need about $6500 a month to live off of. The Paradise Papers! How I ended up living in The Cayman Islands as an Expat What is it Really Like

The Paradise Papers! How I ended up living in The Cayman Islands as an Expat What is it Really Like? The Paradise Papers are out and the Cayman Islands have been mentioned as a place where the Queen of England hides her money. Well, her picture is on all of the bills in the Cayman Islands, so I think it's OK. I used to live in the Cayman Islands and of the 36,000 residence about 15,000 were connected to the Banking sector. Every country in the world that obeys money laundering rules has a branch of theirs in the country. You can find the Bank of China there along with all the major countries as well.

Move To The Cayman Islands!?

Hubby and I moved to Grand Cayman from the UK (though last year we lived in Kuwait!) in August (2013), so here's a little video of some vids and pics I've taken so far - it's also the first time I've used the iMovie app on my ipad...

Cost of Living HAS INCREASED in the Cayman Islands in 2021

Here's the update video you've all been waiting for on Grand Cayman's cost of living. Of course, it comes with my opinion lol, so take everything with a grain of salt and go find these articles (and more!) for yourself :)

Also, sorry this video came out late. The next one will explain why, hehe

What life is like in the Cayman Islands

???????? Life here in the Cayman Islands can be nice and also a struggle. Our life here has been great, I came here 7 years ago and met my wife Gaby here. I have been working in the hosplitaltiy industry at several hotels from the Marriott to Ritz Carlton and now Hampton By Hilton. We were here during the bad days of the Covid Pandemic, and now as life is back to normal, we try to enjoy our selfs and work hard and try to prosper.

Thanks for watching, Evan and Gaby!
