The Thousand Islands are more than 1,800 islands in the St. Lawrence River, along the border between United States (New York State) and Canada (Ontario). This scenic area was a retreat for the elite in the late 19th century, and today is a popular tourist destination. The most famous between many beautiful island mansions in the area is the Boldt Castle on Heart Island.

Adventure in the 1000 Islands
When we were on a road trip in the northeast, we made a few day stop at the 1000 Islands. We explored the area via boat, went on the Uncle Sam Boat Tour, wandered around Heart Island and Boldt Castle, camped in an oTENTik, and stopped at the observation tower for expansive views overlooking the region.
