We headed down from the mountains to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia! This small but beautiful & green city is completely different to any other on this trip so far! After exploring to Ljubljana to headed back up into the Julian Alps to catch a couple of fish for dinner.

Renting a ROWBOAT on Lake Bled & Trying Traditional SLOVENIAN FOOD in Ljubljana
We spent a day exploring the charming city of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and another day visiting Lake Bled. While we were in Ljubljana, we tried some Slovenian food and beer. We decided to rent a rowboat on Lake Bled, and it was such a fun activity!! We loved our time in Slovenia!
We're Colton and Nikki, husband and wife, who didn't want to settle into the default lifestyle and decided to go on a great adventure. After saving for a year and a half, quitting our jobs, selling all of our stuff, and buying a one-way ticket, we're traveling the world to go beyond the norm. Visit the Slovenian Island on an Emerald Lake
Just over 30 miles northwest of the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, you’ll find an alpine lake that looks straight out of a fairytale. With a cliff-side castle, an emerald green, fresh water lake and some of the best views of the Julian Alps, you’d be forgiven for mistaking Lake Bled and its island church for a storybook cover. And as you cross the lake in a traditional wooden boat, learn the legend of the bell that lies below these emerald green waters.

VAN LIFE EUROPE || Slovenia Travel Vlog - Ljubljana and Peričnik Waterfall
In this week's vlog we visit Ljubljana and Peričnik Waterfall. This is part of our Slovenia Travel Vlog and Van Life Europe adventures.
Is Slovenia Europe's most underrated country?
Well it shouldn't be. The country is rich with culture, kind people and amazing scenery. In this week's vlog we continue to explore this incredible country. We first visit Triglav National Park to go and see a magnificent waterfall called Peričnik Waterfall. This is one of Slovenias great wonders. Surrounded by incredible mountains and beautiful woodlands the is a must see place in Slovenia. Unfortunately, we tried to get some footage of Peričnik Waterfall but sadly Calum crashed our drone into a tree, damaging it quite badly.
The next stop for us in this van life vlog was to visit Slovenia's capital city of Ljubljana. We spend a couple of hours exploring the small city starting in Ljubljanas iconic castle. We then wonder the city's cute winding streets before grabbing some delicious food.

Visit Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and explore the places in its surroundings.
Besides having everything that all the other modern capitals have, Ljubljana succeeded in maintaining the relaxed atmosphere of a small city. This picturesque and very vibrant city is full of surprises. The region that besides Ljubljana comprises 25 other municipalities is noted for its traditional hospitality, diverse nature, nice towns, castles, quality traditional restaurants and village churches with their rich artistic legacy.
The Central Slovenia is the place where the alpine and karst landscapes meet. Thus, various unique natural and cultural particularities were created. Some of these are the Ljubljana Marshes, an area of wetlands and peat bogs known for its prehistoric pile dwellers and for its rare animal and vegetal species, the high mountain plateau Velika planina situated in the Kamnik Alps, noted for its ski centre and for being the oldest dairy herdsmen’s settlement in Europe, interesting subterranean caves, karstic fields and the mysterious forests of the Polhov Gradec and Posavje hills that abound with tourist farms.
You will definitely not be bored. The various cultural events are marked by the richness of the tradition as well as by the modern creativity. Forests, rivers and lakes offer great possibilities of an active holiday in the open air. You can choose between hiking, cycling, exploring the nature, hunting, fishing and during the winter, also between skiing and cross-country skiing. There are also some well-maintained golf courses.
Ljubljana and the Central Slovenia region are a perfect destination for relaxed and active holidays.

WALKING AROUND Ljubljana, ???????? SLOVENIA
During my sojourn of SLOVENIA I decided to dedicate three days to discover some significant parts of the capital, LJUBLJANA. Whilst I have not been able to cover every key attraction of the city it's not to say I favour the places in this video any more. Some notable mentions however which I was also able to see are as follows: Park Tivoli, Ljubljana Mosque, Congress Square, Ljubljana Cathedral, Central Market & Town Square. Besides these, one element of Ljubljana is the atmospheric feel of the place. Thus, I encourage you to not only visit these places I've covered but to enjoy the city for what it is.
I hope this video provides you with a better insight to Ljubljana, prompting you to a visit, certainly if you haven't already.

Lake Bled (Slovene: Blejsko jezero; German: Bleder See, Veldeser See) is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a tourist destination. The lake is 35 km (22 mi) from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km (34 mi) from the capital city, Ljubljana. Lake Bled is 4.2 km (2.6 mi) from the Lesce–Bled train station.
Bled is known for the glacial Lake Bled, which makes it a major tourist attraction. Perched on a rock overlooking the lake is the iconic Bled Castle. The town is also known in Slovenia for its vanilla and cream pastry (Slovene: kremšnita, kremna rezina).
Due to its mild climate, Bled has been visited by aristocratic guests from all across the world. Today it is an important convention centre and tourist resort, offering a wide range of sports activities (golf, fishing, and horseback riding). It is a starting point for mountain treks and hikes, especially within nearby Triglav National Park.
A small island in the middle of the lake is home to the Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church; visitors frequently ring its bell, due to an old legend claiming it provides good luck.

Best Things To Do With Your MOM In Ljubljana, Slovenia!!
After my mom came to visit me in Poznan, we started our grand Balkan tour in Ljubljana, Slovenia! We weren't really feeling particularly well and had some remnants of a nasty sinus infection, but we tried to find some nice stuff to do in Ljubljana, anyway. This was both of our first times in Slovenia and we were still able to enjoy the beautiful streets of Ljubljana even though we were a bit under the weather.
