Kasane in Northern Botswana is the gateway to Chobe National Park. It is a beautiful town, and I was amazed at everything there is to discover. I stayed at the incredible Old House Bed & Breakfast, which I can't wait to give you a tour of, and I also did a boat trip into Chobe National Park. This are is beyond beautiful.

Chobe River Botswana - Chobe National Park

This is the amazing Chobe River in Chobe National park just outside the town of Kasane.
We enjoyed a sunset cruise and was amazed by all the wildlife we saw. A bird watcher's paradise too. This must be on your list when visiting Botswana.
Thank you to Kalahari Tours and to our tour guide. His boat driving skills was great to get those special footage and he is very knowledgeable.

Botswana Overland Safari | Savuti to Kasane, in the Okavango Delta | Episode 5

In this final episode of the Okavango Delta Overland Series, we pack up at the beautiful Savuti camp and start to make our way across the Chobe National Park towards Kasane.
This trip involves navigating through some really thick sandy roads, exiting Chobe at the Ghoha gate, crossing the Forest Reserve and then re-entering at the Ngoma gate. The drive along the river provides magnificent views of the Chobe river itself, and we are spoilt with beautiful sightings of Kudu, Impala, Giraffe, Zebra, Elephant, Baboon and Buffalo.
We eventually make our way into Kasane where we check into Chobe Safari Lodge for two nights - and explore the river on a sunset cruise, go tiger fishing and go on a final self drive safari to try and find the famous but elusive prides of Chobe Lions.

As our journey through this magnificent country comes to an end, we make our way back to Francistown from Kasane, and prepare for the long drive back to Johannesburg in South Africa, with one big goal in mind…to think about, and plan the next adventure!

BOTSWANA TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | 4x4 Safari Road Trip feat. Victoria Falls

Follow us on our road trip safari through southern Africa's wildlife paradise Botswana. We drove through most of Botswana, including all the wildlife-rich areas like the Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe Nationalpark including the Chobe Riverfront and the Kalahari. We explored the Makgadikgadi salt pans in the center of the country, the Gcwihaba Caverns in the West and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the south. We also shortly ventured into Zimbabwe to marvel upon the majestic Victoria Falls. We were lucky enough to spot most of the big, and many small, animals which call Botswana home. These include elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, kudus, oryx, ostriches, honey badgers, bat-eared foxes, serval cats, warthogs, springboks, impalas and many more.

Too Many Animals to Handle in Chobe National Park // EP.51

We are visiting Chobe National Park with our Land Rover Defender, and seeing thousands of animals in the park, enjoy one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.
After camping for a couple of days in the bush, we went back to Katima to visit Keith and repair our worn-out wheel bearing. Sadly our stub axle needs replacing but there are no parts here. We will have to do it in Windhoek.
We cross to Botswana and take our anti-bilharzia pills. We were swimming in Malawi Lake, so we need to be sure we didn't get the parasite.
The border between Namibia and Botswana is a smooth one, they only check for meat products.

From here we finally enter Chobe National Park. We are exploring the Chobe Riverfront, one of the areas with the highest concentration of animals, even in the wet season. The river provides a paradise for all species. We see hundreds of buffalo, giraffes, impalas, and elephants. It is stunning and overwhelming at the same time.We get to see even two male lions fighting for a giraffe against 10 Crocs.

We leave the park and go south towards Ghoha Gate. We park in the bush, which feels amazing again. We start early, we are going to cross through Savuti and Mababe, some very beautiful areas of Chobe NP. Here we find breathtaking landscapes, that look more like a painting ????

Enjoy the Ride!

MOWANA SAFARI LODGE KASANE CHOBE NATIONAL PARK BOTSWANA

МОВАНА САФАРИ ЛОДЖ КАСАНЕ ЧОБЕ БОТСВАНА

Mowana Lodge:

Mowana Safari Lodge lies on the banks of the Chobe river, where four African countries (Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe) meet. At this point the Chobe and Zambezi rivers converge – the Zambezi river being the home of the NyamiNyami (or river god). So if you want to learn more about African myths and legends, the Chobe area around the Mowana Safari Lodge is the place to visit!

The Chobe Game Reserve is famous for its enormous elephant population – it is said that 45 000 of these interesting creatures roam the plains of Chobe. They share the area of almost 10 000 square kilometres with lion, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, buffalo, approximately 450 bird species, as well as puku and Chobe bushbuck, which are indigenous to Chobe National Park.

The luxurious Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa near the Chobe Game Reserve is a four-star establishment. Guests are accommodated in 112 luxury rooms and 4 suites (all en suite and air-conditioned).

All rooms and suites face the Chobe river and are equipped with tea/coffee-making facilities, ceiling fans, mini bars, hairdryers as well as mosquito nets and electric insect repellents. Rooms and suites at the Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa also have satellite television and direct dial phone.

The Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa near the Chobe Game Reserve also offers safety deposit boxes, same day laundry and valet service, limited room service as well as airport transfer shuttle.

Jacuzzi and infinity pools. River views and roaming elephants. A hair dressing salon in a tree house and a golf course. Traditional canoe trips and nature walks. Here at Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa, they all go hand in hand. Contemporary luxury meets old traditions and myths. The lobby is raised around an almost thousand-year-old baobab tree (which is beautifully lit up at night) and the resort is named after it. Did you know there are countless legends about these giant trees? The helpful and knowledgeable staff at this lodge are more than happy to share a few with you, all you need to do is ask - preferably on a warm night under a star-studded sky. Mowana Safari Lodge lies on the banks of the Chobe River, where four African countries - Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe - meet. The Chobe Game Reserve is famous for its enormous elephant population: almost 45,000 of these pachydermal giants roam the plains of Chobe. And they are not alone, as they share the area with lion, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, buffalo, and approximately 450 bird species, as well as puku and Chobe bushbuck, which are indigenous to Chobe National Park.

Ep 18: Botswana Part 3 - Chobe National Park along with some Meerkats, Salt Pans & Elephant Sands

The last part of our trip to Botswana was the highlight of our time there. We visited Planet Baobab and spent time with the meerkats and at the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans before heading to Chobe National Park. Chobe is unbelievably special and offers incredible wildlife sightings. A unique opportunity when in Chobe is to go on a Chobe River boat cruise and view the animals from the water. What an experience! We ended our time in Botswana by visiting Elephant Sands in Nata. We got up very close and personal with these majestic creatures.

Best places to stay Kasane. What to expect from hotels, supermarkets and bars? Where would you stay?

Welcome everybody! In this episode we will explore what Kasane in Botswana has to offer and what to expect from the town and it's hotels. I will compare a couple of big ones and you can decide for yourself if you find it worth it or not. They all offer different things depending on what you are looking for, but of course money is always a big player in your decision making so I inlcuded this too.

Are you planning on going to Kasane and what did you expect to find here? Did this maybe give you an idea of what you can encounter here and what to choose?

What do you think off the beautiful locations along the river? Nice and calm right?

Anyway here is the link to the Pangolin hotel with whom I stayed with and highly recommend to stay at!

The next episode will be showing you the actual safaris!

Thank you very much for watching and see you at the next adventure!
