We have left Iran now but travelled in the country at the beginning of September 2022 before protests and civil unrest began in Tehran on 16 September 2022 following to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Our thoughts are with the people of Iran during this time and we feel incredibly thankful to have visited and experienced the amazing hospitality and culture of Iran as New Zealanders.

Isfahan - also referred to as ''Isfahan half of the world'' because of its equally named central square nasf-e jahan and its huge variety of attractions and historical buildings.
There already is a vast number of videos that promote the beautiful palaces, mosques, gardens, etc., so I decided to tell a little bit of a different story - the handicrafts!
Iran has many ancient crafts, and today tranditional arts are still flourishing. So, I went out with friends, and spent a whole day to showing you some of the incredible artists and the beautiful items they produced!

Azadegan Tea House - Chah Haj Mirza - We began in the evening in Isfahan by going to a legendary tea house, and probably one of the world’s most decorated tea houses. It’s fascinating to walk around, look at all the antiques and memorabilia. The food, is also noteworthy and delicious. We had the Kashke Bademjan - Persian eggplant dip, and Dizi - Lamb and chickpeas stew.
Khoresht Mast - Yogurt, lamb, saffron - This was the most shocking Iranian food in Isfahan - lamb and sweet yogurt? Yes, in Isfahan, people are passionate about a dessert made with lamb! And somehow it just works.
Naqsh-e Jahan Square - Isfahan, Iran - When you visit Isfahan, to get a true feel of the center of the city, you have to visit Naqsh-e Jahan Square, a massive public square with a number of important historical mosques and monuments. It’s spectacular.
Haj Mahmoud Beryani - Restaurant, Isfahan Bazaar - This was one of my favorite meals in all of Iran, for a dish called beryan - Minced lamb, mint, saffron. For lamb lovers, it does not get better than this.
Gaz - Persian Nougat - Next we visited a gaz factory, a Persian sweet that’s famously made in Isfahan. It was interesting to see the process, and taste it too.
Hafez Golha - Milk pudding - Next we stopped at Hafez Golha for his hand made milk pudding. It’s simple and delicious and a great dessert for an evening in Isfahan, Iran.
Khaju Bridge - Historical Bridge - And finally we ended this incredible Iranian food tour and attractions tour at Khaju Bridge where locals gather to sing songs under the historical bridges.
Isfahan is a fascinating city, with such a rich culture, history, and unique delicious food. Thank you for watching.

Then, try to imagine all the trading and sporting events (i.e. polo) that unfolded here 400+ years ago!

In today's video, we revisit Naqsh-e Jahan Square (in the daylight this time). We go to Ali Qapu Palace, The Shah Mosque, Chehel Sotoon Palace, Monar Jonban and Khaju bridge (Isfahan is actually very famous for their historical bridges.)
The architecture of these buildings is honestly amazing. Every little feature had a reason why it was there and I learned a lot as you can probably tell in the video lol.
We also went to Isfahan's birds Garden which was soo nice (and funny looll)
The ruins of Persepolis was such a good experience too but it felt like I was standing next to the sun ????
We finally made it to Shiraz and we stayed in Shiraz grand hotel (this was probably one of my favorite hotels we stayed at in Iran)

Kashan and its suburbs have a population of 400,000. Kashan is internationally famous for manufacturing carpets, silk, and other textiles. Today, Kashan houses most of Iran's mechanized carpet-weaving factories and has an active marble and copper mining industry. Kashan dates back to the Elamite period of Iran.
The etymology of the city name comes from the Kasian, the original inhabitants of the city, whose remains are found at Tapeh Sialk dating back 9,000 years; later this was changed to Kashian, hence the town name. Between the 12th and 14th centuries, Kashan was an important center for the production of high-quality pottery and tiles. In modern Persian, the word for a tile (Kashi) comes from the name of the town.
Kashan is divided into two parts, mountainous and desert. In the west side, Kashan is cited in the neighborhood of two of the highest peaks of the Karkas chain, Mount Gargash to the southwest of Kashan (the home of Iran national observatory, the largest astronomical telescope of Iran) and Mount Ardehaal in the west of Kashan, also known as Damavand of Kashan and the highest peak of Ardehaal mountains (end part of Karkas chain in central Iran).
On August 9, 2007, Iran placed the Historical Axis of Fin, Sialk, Kashan on its Tentative List for possible future nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The exact definition of what locations within Kashan proper might be nominated was not made clear. In 2012 Iran successfully nominated the Fin Garden separately for inscription by UNESCO as a part of its Persian Gardens World Heritage Site. Despite this, the Historical-Cultural Axis of Fin, Sialk, Kashan remains in full on Iran's Tentative List
