Dominica is well known for it's beautiful 365 rivers but I wanted to highlight that we have amazing beaches as well. This video shows my top 5 but there are a ton more to chose from.
Here are the beaches in order that they appear in the video:
1. Secret Beach-in Portsmouth but only accessible by boat.
2. Toucari Beach- In the village of Toucari. Must visit the restaurant Keeping it Real
3. Sand Bay- In the village of Marigot. Beautiful beach with a paved path but very steep.
4. Batibou- Really wish I got to show more of this beach. The black sand spans for at least a mile and it is absolutely breath taking
5. Purple Turtle- In Portsmouth. Definitely the party beach. Shout out to my lil cousin Jamilah for showing us this beach

DOMINICA IS A HOTBED OF the weird and wonderful things that nature has to offer. One of the most striking examples is this mineral-rich sea that fizzes like a vat of champagne due to volcanic gasses bubbling up from thermal springs on the seabed. While most tourists will experience this spectacular phenomenon—not to mention the plethora of colourful coral and sea life that it nourishes—by snorkelling or diving off at Champagne Reef, locals tend to head a little farther south, to Bubble Beach in the village of Soufriere.

Diving Soufrière Marine Park - Night dive Champagne Part 2, Dominica
Champagne Reef: Champagne Reef gets its name from the bubbles produced from the underwater hot springs. The dive itself usually consists of a circuit around Champagne reef, followed by a safety stop exploring the hot springs and bubbles. This is a dive for all levels; calm water and Currents here are usually light. It is not unusual to find seahorses and frogfish here, and flying gurnards are common over the shallow sandy areas. Squid can often be seen in-shore not far from the bubbles. The site makes an excellent night dive as well when the reef explodes with life: huge crabs and lobsters are common sightings.
All of the diving on Dominica takes place within one of three Marine Reserves: The Cabrits National Park Marine Section in the north, the Salisbury Marine Reserve in Dominica's central west, and the Soufriere Scotts Head Marine Reserve, the oldest Reserve on the island, located in the south west of the island. As it is just a short boat trip from Dive Dominica, most of the diving takes place in and around the Soufriere Scotts Head Marine Reserve.
Not surprisingly, the topography of our dive sites mirrors that of our diverse landscape above. High mountain peaks above create dramatic drop offs, walls and canyons below. Mountain passages become swim throughs and caverns. There are massive boulder fields and volcanic craters underwater just as there is above water. Pinnacles rise up everywhere. We even have active underwater fumaroles.

These famous twin waterfalls are a 20 minute drive from Roseau. A pleasant, short walk takes one from the Visitors Centre to a good viewing platform. The twin falls are referred to as the Father (to the left) and Mother (to the right). The more intrepid can continue on to swim in the refreshing waters of the smaller waterfall (Mother) or hike up to the Father Falls where you will also find a hot water spring.
