We took Gabriel to @thedubaimall for his first mall visit since the pandemic outbreak started to visit the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. It features thousands of aquatic animals, a 270-degree walkthrough tunnel, a rainforest, and the UAE's night creatures. We also got to ride their glass-bottom boat, witnessed some behind the scenes activities in the aquarium, and got a glimpse of their Gentoo penguins.

The 48-meter walk-through Tunnel provides 270-degree views from 11 meters below the surface of the tankVisitors can go on a Glass-bottom boat ride, providing unique views of the tank from beneath their feet.
Those who want to experience a dip in the tank can opt for a Shark Encounter experience and for the adventurous ones, a Shark Dive is a once in a lifetime opportunity, bringing you within inches of a large variety of sharks and rays.

The aquarium's acrylic panel, weighing more than 2, 45,000 kilograms and measuring 32.8 m X 8.3 m X 750 mm, was featured as the largest of its kind in the world in the Guinness Book of World Records' 2010 edition.

The Dubai Aquarium offers a lot of attractions around the topic of marine animals. So there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.
Aquarium Tunnel
The Aquarium & Discovery Center offers you the possibility to dive into the aquarium. There you can observe the variety of fish through a nearly 50 meter long tunnel. A spooky atmosphere is created by the enormous sharks, which often swim right in front of the glass pane. In addition, a color-changing light atmosphere provides another highlight.
Boat trip with glass bottom
In addition to the aquarium tunnel, trips in a boat with a glass floor are also offered. This gives you an even better view of the colorful underwater world and you can feed the sea creatures at the same time.
Diving with sharks
There are also great offers for adrenaline junkies. For example, how about a dive with the sharks? The particularly brave of you can get into a diving cage and get up close and personal with the underwater creatures! Tickets for this can be purchased directly on site at the ticket office.
Underwater Zoo
In the underwater zoo you can see seahorses, sea otters, penguins, piranhas and many other animals in addition to the numerous fish! Interactive information boards bring you closer to the underwater world in a playful way. It is also home to one of the world's largest crocodiles. At 40 years old, the King Kroc is already over 5 meters long. It has a weight of over 750 kg. In the next few years it will become even bigger and heavier.
Further there is also the possibility to snorkel or to participate in the feeding of the rays.
Our tip: Especially impressive is the shark feeding. This takes place daily at 2 pm and is absolutely recommended! We recommend buying a Dubai Aquarium ticket with access to the glass tunnel - so you can see the spectacle up close.

Continue your journey at the Underwater Zoo and learn more about what amazing creatures inhabit both our rivers and oceans. Located on Level Two above the Aquarium tank, Underwater Zoo leads you through three ecological Zones; Rainforest, Rocky Shore, and Living Ocean. Watch out for these aquatic creatures at Underwater Zoo: Otters, Piranha, Lionfish, Giant Spider Crabs, Seahorses, Garden Eels, Archerfish, Water Rats, Paddlefish, Cichlids, and many more amazing aquatic animals in 40 individual aquatic displays.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is home to thousands of aquatic animals, comprising over 140 species. Over 400 Sharks and Rays live in our 10 million liter tank, including Sand Tiger Sharks, Giant Groupers, and a host of other marine species. A series of carefully designed experiences will allow our visitors to come face to face with our aquatic residents for memorable moments with friends and family.
