Embark on an unforgettable journey to Baguio, Philippines, as we uncover the top things to do in this charming mountain city. Nestled in the scenic Cordillera Central Range, Baguio offers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, with its cool climate, breathtaking views, and vibrant culture.

Our adventure begins with a visit to the iconic Burnham Park, a picturesque urban park named after Daniel Burnham, the city's American architect. Take a leisurely boat ride on the serene man-made lake, stroll through lush gardens, and try your hand at various recreational activities like biking, roller skating, and picnicking.

Next, we explore the enchanting Mines View Park, where you can soak in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the old mining town. Don't miss the opportunity to have your photo taken wearing traditional Cordillera attire or to sample fresh strawberries and other local produce from the nearby stalls.

For a taste of Baguio's rich cultural heritage, we take you to the Tam-Awan Village. Immerse yourself in the traditional arts and crafts of the Cordillera people as you explore the village's recreated traditional huts and art galleries. Engage in workshops on weaving, wood carving, and other indigenous crafts, and appreciate the beauty of local artwork.

No trip to Baguio is complete without experiencing the vibrant Baguio Public Market. Wander through its bustling stalls and indulge in a gastronomic adventure, sampling local delicacies like strawberry taho, fresh vegetables, and Baguio's famous longganisa. Bargain for unique souvenirs, handicrafts, and colorful woven products.

Nature lovers will be delighted by the breathtaking beauty of the Botanical Garden. Take a leisurely walk amidst vibrant flower beds, explore native huts showcasing the indigenous culture of the Cordillera region, and encounter the famous Igorot sculpture garden.

Discover the fascinating history of Baguio at the Baguio Cathedral, also known as Our Lady of the Atonement Cathedral. Marvel at its stunning architecture and enjoy a moment of serenity inside the church. Nearby, visit the Baguio Museum, which showcases the city's history, culture, and indigenous heritage.

Don't miss the chance to explore the cool, refreshing ambiance of the Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad, just a short distance from Baguio. Pick your own strawberries, savor freshly made strawberry ice cream, and learn about the intricacies of strawberry farming.

As our journey through Baguio comes to an end, we hope you're inspired to visit this enchanting city and explore its many wonders. Baguio city is known as the city of pines. But why have some expats chosen this city to be their home? Today we will explore what life is like living in Baguio city, what you need to know, and ultimately whether this is a good location to live, visit or move to as an expat.

First, we need to know some fundamental information. Baguio city is located in the north of the Philippines and is a 3hour and 45 minute drive away from Manila and 2 hours and 40 minutes away from the naughty Angeles city. Baguio City has been known as a poverty area historically; however, in recent times, the poverty rate has declined, according to the national poverty statistics. Nevertheless, the cost of living can be extremely cheap in this area.

Accommodation costs will fluctuate depending on the quality of the unit. You can find a nice apartment or small unit for under 10,000 pesos. the difference in price is often due to what part of the city you are living in, which is very similar to if you chose to live in Cebu city as certain areas are known to be slightly more expensive than others. However, if you're not sure if you will be living in the city long-term, you can always decide to rent an Airbnb. But what about the lifestyle? If you are at the retirement age and enjoy nature, a quieter city but still want to be situated in the north of the Philippines, then Baguio city is perfect. You won't find as Many expats as you will compared to other cities, which some expats see as a good thing. In addition, the locals are known to be very friendly and accommodating to new expats in the area. I didn't find many foreign social groups in this area, likely due to the limited number of expats compared to the largest cities. If you decide to move to this area, it's recommended to get involved in the local groups. If you're looking for a fast and upbeat city, other areas will be more appropriate. Still, if you're looking for a relaxed, chilled-out, low-cost area in the Philippines with friendly locals, Baguio city is a fantastic option.

Safety is also a big concern when moving to a new city in the Philippines, so I've looked at the recent and historical statistics, crime ratings, and personal testimonies to create a larger picture.

One characteristic of Baguio city is that it can be much colder in this area compared to other areas of the Philippines. Many expats enjoy this area because it can feel like the heart of the Philippines, meaning that there are lots of local traditions and cultural experiences to witness, which makes it a very enjoyable place to live or visit when in the Philippines.

Interestingly as the city offers a slightly lower cost of living, business costs can also be much lower compared to Manila, and This is why several outsourcing call centers have opened in this area over the years. What I also must mention is that if you are planning to move to baguio city you may wish to avoid the period around the Holy Week. The city has been known to almost double in size during this time as locals from all over the country fly to this area during this time.

Transportation is highly accessible in this city, and there are several options from other nearby cities, including Manila to Baguio City. I also looked at the medical facilities available in this area. I found that there were many hospitals and smaller health centers in the city, and most of these were privately operated.

Overall the city is beautiful, and it could easily be a great place to live for many years if you are looking for a relaxed lifestyle. 99% of expats will not need to spend more than $1500 in the city. Even if you decide not to live in this area full time, it's a fantastic place to experience for a few weeks or a few months.

I have included everything you'll need to know about living in Baguio city but if you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Additionally, you will find some extra information in this handy video where we discuss living in the Philippines

Baguio is Unlike Any Other City in The Philippines!! ????????

We are back with another Baguio adventure here in the Philippines and this city is unlike any other. We start out today's vlog in downtown Baguio on a mission to head to the Valley of Colors. Once arriving at the Valley of Colors we get a quick view of the beautiful neighborhood and then head in to explore what it has in store for us.

We then head off to the strawberry fields to try one of the famous attractions of Baguio. For 700 pesos we were able to pick some strawberries. We picked the best of the best and then also purchased some local strawberry jam to try as well. On our way out we saw a strawberry ice cream vendor so we thought we might as well try some of that as well!

We then headed over to mirador park to find the best view of Baguio. This park cost 100 to get into, but had tons of weaving trails and decorations to check out! Thanks for watching another Baguio adventure, we still have more to come!!

This Might Be Our FAVORITE City in The Philippines! | First Impressions of Baguio, Philippines ????????

We have finally made it to Baguio in the Philippines and this might be our favorite city in the Philippines! Join us in this hiking video as we give our first impressions of Baguio.

We start our day, nice and early, at the local Jollibee as we wait for the sun to rise. Then we were off to Camp John Hay to do some hiking. We hit up the Eco Trail where we found some confusing trails, a wonky bridge, and some beautiful views. This has got to be the best hiking trail we have gone on so far in The Philippines!

We then headed into the busy city to get some impressions of what the downtown looks like and headed to a restaurant called Vizcos to try their famous strawberry shortcake and some other food items as well!

Thanks for watching the first video of our Baguio journey! More to come!
