Alexandria is a Mediterranean port city in Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to a lighthouse ranking among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as well as a storied library. Today the library is reincarnated in the disc-shaped, ultramodern Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The city also has Greco-Roman landmarks, old-world cafes and sandy beaches. Its 15th-century seafront Qaitbay Citadel is now a museum. Alexandria, Arabic Al-Iskandariyyah, major city and urban muḥāfaẓah (governorate) in Egypt. Once among the greatest cities of the Mediterranean world and a centre of Hellenic scholarship and science, Alexandria was the capital of Egypt from its founding by Alexander the Great in 332 BCE until its surrender to the Arab forces led by ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ in 642 CE. One of Egypt’s largest cities, Alexandria is also its principal seaport and a major industrial centre. The city lies on the Mediterranean Sea at the western edge of the Nile River delta, about 114 miles (183 km) northwest of Cairo in Lower Egypt. Area city, 116 square miles (300 square km). Pop. (2006) city, 4,110,015.

Egypt: Exploring Alexandria
We were swept away to the Mediterranean City, founded by Alexander the Great, Alexandria. Where Cleopatra reigned as the final Pharaoh of Egypt. We spent the day viewing the relics of a bygone age that highlight Alexandria. Pompeii's Pillar, and Kom El Shokafa Catacombs.
We took a drive from Cairo to explore Alexandria. We comb through the catacombs, cite the citadel, roam around Pompeii’s Pillar, and toured the library at Alexandria.
I mean, we weren’t going to go all the way to Egypt and NOT see Alexandria!

Hey whats up everyone! I've been exploring Egypt for 3 weeks now, but this journey is part of my second week here. I initially wanted to make my way to Luxor but because of the heat being hotter in both Luxor and Aswan I took my journeys west to visit Alexandria. I must say being in Cairo for the first week was tough but being in Alexandria for the second week just made everything so much better. I really like the Air, Vintage buildings and People. This is my first day and impression of Alexandria, enjoy!

A DAY IN ALEXANDRIA EGYPT (4K)
The next part of our Egyptian adventures took us to Alexandria, which was once home to a lighthouse considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. We had a day in Alexandria Egypt to explore this amazing city! We traveled to Qaitbay Fort as well as The Montazah Royal Gardens. It was a national holiday when we visited so everyone was out celebrating. Alexandria also has some great beaches. We had one day to fully explore this part of Egypt so hope you enjoy our journey and exploring with us.
