In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the small Georgia mountain hamlet (population: 582) reinvented itself as a picturesque re-creation of a classic Bavarian village, offering a taste of the Alps in the mountains of the Appalachians. Finally we were able to go on a day trip to the mountains and a little Bavarian town called Helen, GA!
We were trying to see the autumn foliage... did we make it on time, or did we miss it?!?!
Also realized that this might be the last trip we take before the baby comes! Sad and shocking realization... but couldn't be more excited at the same time :)
