The ULTIMATE 24 hours in LUANG PRABANG, LAOS | Kuang Si Falls, Butterfly Garden, and MORE

In this video, we are showing you the ultimate 24-hour itinerary for Luang Prabang, Laos.

We started our day by hopping in a mini-van and heading over to the STUNNING Kuang Si Falls. Kuang Si Falls is a must-visit when in Luang Prabang, Laos! The milky turquoise blue pools of water set inside the deep foliage of the jungle is just breathtaking. It is such a treat to dip into the cool water on a hot day!

Next, we headed to a butterfly garden that was near Kuang Si Falls and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice getting away from the crowds and the butterflies were beautiful. The girls working here were very knowledgeable and eager to share. We would definitely recommend stopping here if you go to the falls.

We headed over to a buffalo dairy farm and had some house-made ice cream. There were many uniques flavors on the menu and they were all delicious!

After we got back into Luang Prabang, we decide to make to hike up the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phou Si to see the sunset. We finished our day by indulging in a fancy and slightly bizarre dinner.

Deep in the forests of Cambodia’s Siem Reap province, an ancient stone city soars skyward. This is the sprawling complex of Angkor Archaeological Park. The site is located in the northwestern region of the country and is only four miles from the city of Siem Reap. The Khmer Empire’s various capitals thrived here from the 9th to 15th centuries, over an empire that stretched from Myanmar to Vietnam. Including forested areas and newly discovered “suburbs” Angkor covers more than 400 square miles—an area considerably larger than New York City’s five boroughs.

The massive Angkor Wat is the most famed of all Cambodia’s temples—it even appears on the nation’s flag. The 12th century “temple-mountain” was built as a spiritual home for the Hindu god Vishnu.

The temples of Angkor are architectural masterpieces laden with artistic treasures like the bas-relief galleries that tell enduring tales of Cambodian history and legend.

Angkor is as much about water as it is about stone—the site boasts an enormous system of artificial canals, dikes, and reservoirs. The West Baray reservoir is the largest of which at 5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. These massive works skillfully harnessed river and rainwater to quench the thirst of some 750,000 residents in the world’s largest preindustrial city. That water also irrigated wealth-producing crops like rice, which served the Khmer as currency.

It’s still a mystery to scientists why the city’s rulers abandoned the site and resettled near the modern capital of Phenom Penh. Some scholars speculate that the downfall of this elaborate water system led to the end of Angkor.

The town of Siem Reap is the gateway to Angkor and is filled with lodging, dining, and tour-package options for all budgets. Those preferring to travel by boat can also make the trip from Phnom Penh in some five or six hours—about the same travel time as by road. The airport in Siem Reap has service to Phnom Penh and regular flights abroad to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and Laos. The airport in Siem Reap has service to the capital and regular flights to nearby countries.

Peak tourist season in Angkor is December and January, when rainfall is less likely and the climate is most kind. No matter the time of year, a visit to Angkor is sure to leave you awestruck.

Laos why is it the best timing to visit now

Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself one question What life is like out there beyond the monastery? and because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally said goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.
Please make sure to stick with me so we can explore new exotic places together.
Let the adventure begins!
Thanks so much for your support.

Stunning Stone Monuments of Petra | National Geographic

The “Rose City” is a honeycomb of hand-hewn caves, temples, and tombs carved from blushing pink sandstone in the high desert of Jordan some 2,000 years ago. Hidden by time and shifting sand, Petra tells of a lost civilization. Little is known about the Nabateans—a nomadic desert people whose kingdom rose up from these cliffs and peaks, and whose incredible wealth grew from the lucrative incense trade.

River cruising provides a ready adventure through the valleys of storied rivers, like the Danube, the Rhine, and the Yangtze. It’s a slow mode of transportation, but that can be a good thing when you’re exploring lands rich in beauty and history. In addition to big cities, a cruise can showcase areas along the way, delving into a country’s core: the villages, castles, and countryside along the waterways that gave life to its civilization. You can find cultural treasures—a town square at Christmastime, a centuries-old abbey, a floating market in Thailand, or ancient Egyptian temple—without having to be your own navigator. You avoid extra flights, hotels, and lines. And some cruises sail at night, saving time to experience more nature or culture. Cruises offer a similar gamut of accommodations to hotels. Compared to ships at sea, a river vessel is a very smooth ride, allowing you to appreciate the unfolding panorama.

Luang Prabang, Laos: The Most Beautiful Town I’ve Ever Seen! Exploring UNESCO site and Mekong 2022

Throughout my months in southeast Asia, the one consistent recommendation people encouraged me to do is to do whatever it takes to visit Luang Prabang, Laos. This town or city of 56,000 people is about a 2 hour super fast train ride or 5-8 bus ride through winding mountains north of the capital city of Vientiane, Laos. Luang Prabang is like no other place I've ever visted on earth. Its like stepping onto another planet where the earth and town live in harmony with each other. The culture is very kind and relaxed, the food is delicious and healthy, and everywhere you look brings an immense sense of serenity and gorgeous natural beauty. The Mekong river winds through the town and the mountain ranges jut up from lush green wildlife surrounding the town. I do my best to bring what I experienced here to you...

Cinematic video of my trip to Luang Prabang in Laos, January 2023

This was my first trip outside of Thailand this year, where I crossed the land border on an almost 24-hour bus journey from Chiang Mai, where I spent New Year's Eve.
