After I filmed the wedding in Greece I hired a motorbike and did some cliff jumping and I was oddly satisfied having ticked off all I wanted to do. That was when I discovered that I hadn't planned any further than that so I went to the airport and booked the cheapest flight out of Greece, which just so happened to be Dubrovnik, Croatia.
This video shows 3 days of adventuring through the streets of Dubrovnik and jumping off the rocks on the surrounding islands.

Dubrovnik's the home of Game of Thrones. The sight of King's Landing. A city truly built with royalty in mind. It's no wonder that Dubrovnik attracts millions of visitors every year. There are seriously SO many cool things to do in Dubrovnik. Come along with us as we spend one incredible day in Dubrovnik!
We entered the old town of Dubrovnik via the Pile Gate. It is the natural starting point of any visit to Dubrovnik and has served as the main entryway since 1537. It began as a wooden drawbridge, but was made into a more permanent stone structure. Above the gate is Sveti Vlaho or Saint Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik.
As you'll see, this day didn't exactly go to plan. We wanted to walk the walls, but the fee was just a bittttt out of our price range. Maybe next time!
Really close to the city walls is a coffee shop that we found online called Cogito Coffee Shop. Everything that we read suggested that this would be the perfect stopping spot for coffee. It’s tucked in a medieval alleyway and makes for a really good picture spot!
If you’re into travel like we are then odds are you’ve heard of Dubrovnik. If not, then maybe you know of it because of Game of Thrones. If you’ve never heard the name Dubrovnik, then I’m guessing you’ve owned some type of electronic that had a picture of Old Town as a stock screensaver. Either way, the reason Dubrovnik’s become so wildly popular is due to the beauty here. It sits perfectly on the Adriatic Sea and while the views from the city walls toward the sea are stunning, that only really tells half of the story. Inside the city walls are baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, cobbled streets, & marble squares that’ll make you not want to venture out from the area. The Old Town has been the heart of Dubrovnik for centuries and gives a little glimpse into the world during medieval times. Nowadays the area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site & attracts thousands of tourists like us every year.
Next up was Rector's Palace & unfortunately it was closed on Wednesday's. But thankfully we got to meet the little cat that lives on the steps!
Next was a place called Buza Bar. This is the prime spot along the city walls in order to do some swimming or cliff jumping. This is one of the things Trey wanted to do most while we were here.
In the vlog we jumped in time a bit to meet up with our friend from Dubrovnik, Petar. He's an historian & provided us some super unique detail on the history of the old town & you can see the people here take such great pride of their history. Thank you so much Petar!
So we’ve explored the Old Town, but just outside of Old Town is a really cool Game of Thrones filming location. West Harbour is a spot where not to be if you’re one of Robert Baratheon’s kids. Also this little pier is where Sansa and Shea watched ships arrive in the first episode of Season 3. It might also look familiar as it is Blackwater Bay at King’s Landing.
On the other side of West Harbour from the Old Town is Lovrijenac, or St. Lawrence Fortress. This is a huge fortress and theater that sits 121 ft above sea level and is referred to as “Dubrovnik’s Gibraltar”. It’s famous for resisting Venetian rule in the 11th century and has served as host for the Red Bull Cliff Diving circuit.
Right on the other side of the fortress is Danče Beach. This is one of the oldest beaches in Dubrovnik and is where all the locals go. The water here is a bit colder since it faces the open waters, but that also means it’s cleaner and more transparent so it’s a must-stop if you’re in Dubrovnik and want to get away from the craziness of Old Town.

Back to my adventurous ways! Took a trip to Croatia for 2 weeks with my lovely wife to explore all the diving possibilities! Water temp in the sea is 24 degrees which is perfect! Not like the 10 degrees we experienced in the Cetina Spring a few days ago!
Free Diving is such a beautiful sport, it mixes physicality and meditation together into one. You need to be physically fit but also you need to train having a calm mind and state.
We were a little put off traveling due to the UK government but we went for it in the end, yes you need to spend extra money on tests 1 before you travel and one to come home. But we felt it was worth it. You dont need to have taken any experimental vax to visit Croatia, and everyone here is living a normal life, not much propaganda and so mostly its life as normal. Highly rate it here.
