Trekking to Everest Base Camp from Start to Finish - Nepal March 2023

FAQ: we trekked MARCH 20-31, 2023.

Hiking Everest Base Camp with my husband and in-laws was both incredible & challenging. The trek was a bit tougher than I imagined, but not impossible. I wanted to share a realistic portrayal, so even though I have a few cringe moments in this video, I wanted to be sure to communicate my honest experience hiking EBC. We experienced freezing temperatures, slush and snow, as well as witnessed the most beautiful sunrise of our lives. Altitude sickness is also not a joke, so trek safely, slowly, and be sure to get travel insurance!

We came home full of memories from our time in Nepal. Our trekking guide Karan and our porters, Harka & Rajan, all local to Nepal, made our experience & we cannot imagine a better trip without them. We are forever grateful for them to share their beautiful country with us and be such positive lights in this world.

Nepal is full of breathtaking mountain ranges, and I would perhaps recommend taking the paths less traveled. Everest Base Camp is a bucket list trek for sure, but there are many other options in Nepal too, so I encourage you to hire a local trekking company & check those out as well.

If you made it this far- this video took my channel to the monetization stage & I just want to say how grateful I am. Unfortunately there was a song that needed to be switched out, so you may have noticed a very weird music transition. Regardless, thanks for being with me on this Youtube learning journey. I appreciate the support.

4K FULL DOCUMENTARY OF EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK | NEPAL | HIMALAYA

Longer version

JOURNEY TO THE EVEREST BASE CAMP

After trekking for eight days straight for 8 to 10 hours each day, dealing with high altitude sickness, cold weather, and a lack of oxygen, my wife and I finally made it to Everest Base Camp.

We've wanted to come here for a long time, but since we don't hike or trek and don't work out often, we've changed our minds.

This year, we decided to just do it because the world has just opened and there is no better time than now.

The day before we left for Nepal, we weren't sure we could do it and thought about canceling, luckily we managed to persuade ourselves to go ahead, and here we are, after trekking for eight days in a row for 8 to 10 hours each day, enduring high altitude sickness, cold weather, and a lack of oxygen, we finally made it to the Everest Base Camp!

We realized that what got us to the base camp wasn't physical. We don't trek or hike much in Singapore, so that wasn't a factor at all. Instead, what got us there was determination, perseverance, willpower and a positive mindset.

Thank you once more. Keshav, Giri, and Deep, you three made an incredible team!

The Quest For Everest: Ep 3 - Everest Base Camp Trek, Nepal

My flatmate Chris and I returned to Nepal to attempt the Everest Base Camp Trek in this travel documentary.

The 12 day trek is a round trip of 124km, reaching an altitude of 5,545 metres or 18,192 feet.

The problem however is that 18 months beforehand, we tried to reach the Tibetan Everest Base Camp only for Chris to be hospitalised for 3 nights with severe altitude sickness.

After failing to reach Everest on that trip we returned to Nepal to complete our Quest.

This is the epic finale to our Quest For Everest trilogy featuring a brand new score created by Jack Nicholson.

A lot of firsts for me on this one. It was my first international trip and man was it an experience. I met up with a stranger from instagram and hiked to 5,364m //17,598ft to reach the base of the tallest mountain in the world. We experienced heat, sunburns, rain and snow. We went without a shower for 10 days and no running water for part of it. I fought altitude sickness and still managed to come home with khumbu cough and a stomach virus. Enjoy the struggle, and I'll see ya in the comments.

My dog and I are based in British Columbia, Canada and spend the weekends solo adventuring, exploring mountains, camping and paddling. New videos every week.

Hiking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal - Trekking in the Himalayas

The hike to Everest Base Camp in Nepal is one of the most spectacular and iconic high-altitude treks in the Himalayas, passing through remote Sherpa villages, rustic tea houses and epic mountain landscapes, culminating at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest.

Back in May, me and Amy were joined in Nepal by our friends Clare and Russ to take on this incredible multi-day trek. Led by our Sherpa guides, Gelu, Mingma and Pemba, we spent 12 days hiking 80 miles from the village of Lukla - home to 'the world's most dangerous airport' - up to Everest Base Camp at 5,364m above sea level, and back again.

18 TIPS on How to Hike the Everest Base Camp of Nepal

All I wanted to know before our backpacking attempt at the Three Passes Trek/EBC of Nepal. My best tips and advice on hiking this scenic and adventurous trail high in the mountains of Nepal. Highest point: 5644m. This video helps you prepare for your group and solo hike!

I give information about guides, gear, safety, highlights, the route and much more. I liked this hike a lot and hiked it myself in March of 2023. This was my second time in Nepal and first time in the scenic Khumbu Region.

Everest Base Camp Trek Possible in 7 days? Nepal Documentary

On this trip to Nepal, I was able to fulfill a bucket list trip, which was to take a crack at trekking to Everest Base Camp. We went at the end of May and that corresponded to the end of the climbing season. Our group of four opted to make the trip without a guide. And we had about half the time as most package trips recommend. This video documents the whole experience from flying to Lukla from Kathmandu - and eventually back to Kathmandu. If you are considering making a trip to Nepal to trek, this will give you a good idea about what you might encounter. Chomolungma (in Tibet) in the Sagarmatha National Park (Nepal)

Inside The Hidden Hotels That Keep Mount Everest Running

The Everest base-camp trek takes days and over 100 kilometers of hiking. Along the journey, teahouses provide a hot meal and a warm bed. But the porters, who carry upwards of 45 kilograms each day, usually stay in separate lodging from the climbers who hire them. And at over 4,200 meters, getting anything to a teahouse, whether on back or by yak, is a logistical nightmare. So, what's it like inside these teahouses? And how do you run a business at the top of the world?

UNCUT | DAY 1-8 | FULL DOCUMENTARY EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK | NEPAL

Shorter Version
