Socotra island, The hidden land - Republic of Yemen (HD1080p)

*** Socotra, also called Soqotra, located between the Guardafui Channel and the Arabian Sea, is the largest of four islands of the Socotra archipelago. The territory is located near major shipping routes and is officially part of Yemen, and had long been a subdivision of the Aden Governorate. In 2004, it became attached to the Hadhramaut Governorate, which is much closer to the island than Aden (although the nearest governorate was the Al Mahrah Governorate). In 2013, the archipelago became its own governorate, the Socotra Governorate. ***

A TRIP OF A LIFETIME - Dragoon Forest and city life on Socotra

A trip of a lifetime, that is what this trip to Socotra has been. In last and final video from Socotra I bring you along for our last days on the island. We drove inland and headed up in the mountains, where we visited the dragoon forest, went swimming in a wadi and had our lunch under a dragoon blood tree. We watched the sunrise and went in to Hadibo, which is the capital city of Socotra. There we got a glimpse of every day life on the island. The last night was spent at Di Hamri which was where we also spent our first night on the trip. The next day it was time to head back to the airport and fly back to Abu Dhabi. When we arrived we said goodbye to our group and parted our separate ways. This truly was an amazing trip and it was all thanks to the trip organizer Welcome to Socotra and the group of wonderful people who I spent the week with. I will cherish this trip in my heart forever.

I am Grace on Tour and travel has been my biggest passion ever since I can remember. My very first international trip was done two weeks after I was born. In the summer of 2018 I started posting on this channel as I set off on a trip around Asia before studying a semester in Taiwan. During this time my love for travel grew and I tried to travel to new places during my weekends off from university. Throughout uni I made travel a priority and worked multiple side jobs to fund my travels. After doing my thesis in Hong Kong I graduated in June 2019. At this point I decided to take a gap year and go traveling. My goal was to visit as many countries as possible. I soon realized that travel is what I love and wan´t to keep on doing. I now dream of visiting every country in the world.
