Hey y’all! Its Melinda and Tracey and we make up the Gallivanting Gals. We are always planning our next trip and before we even get there we are working on the next and the next, you get the idea! Who we really are: After years of working the 40-hour work weeks or mostly 60-hour weeks, we decided to follow our dream & start our travels. We started our journey from Nashville, TN. Which is Melinda’s hometown and Tracey’s adopted hometown. No, we didn’t sell everything and leave home, but we did sell our business of 14 years and start planning. To be more personal, we also saw people young and old that were very dear to us pass away and we realized that life is too short, and you never know what tomorrow will bring. Though that may sound a little cliché, that’s truly what gave us a swift kick in the butt to start doing all the things we love.
Now we travel about 6 months a year and love every minute of it. As Gen Xer’s we found that there weren’t a lot of channels that focused on our style of travel. We don’t carry everything in a backpack, and we usually don’t stay in hostels. We give a firsthand view of the beautiful places we visit as well as any tips & tricks we have picked up along the way. We try to share as much as we can about the popular tourist sites because those are what drives most people to travel to certain places. We also love to discover hidden corners and less touristy places along the way.

What's Up Folks,
We recently went to Paris for 11 nights and choose to stay in an Airbnb because it is usually more family friendly. We are a family of 5 and most hotels do max 4 people per room, so in the end we would need to rent two rooms, which doesn't work because our kids are too young to sleep on their own. Having an option to cook your meals also helps, most Airbnb's have a kitchen, this helps a lot so you don't need to eat out every day or every meal. However, in the end the choice is really up to you. Hotels have their advantages too also, such as breakfast made for you, room service, work out gyms and pools.
In this video, show you how the Airbnb was setup for us to use. Coming from Canada, there are somethings that were very different. For example, the Clothes Dryer has no air vent, the moisture is collected in a reservoir - that is new to me. The windows had an external mechanical black out blinds, also something I don't see. The garbage chute was smaller than the ones I normally see in Canada. Some more nuances differences, and I show them in the video.
We try to give you an idea of the cost, walking distance and surrounding area or the Airbnb. This is a very typical busy type spot. You will find a Metro Station (subway), a small grocery stores, restaurants, and bakeries. So where every you rent, it will be similar.
