24 Hours in Oslo, Norway

Oslo, Norway - Our final stop of the Norway travel adventure lands us in Oslo, where we have 24 hours to find the best things to do in Oslo.
This is what I found for the best things to do in Oslo in just one day...

Haralds Vaffel - Waffles are THE signature breakfast in Norway, and the Norwegian style is thinner than their Belgium counterpart.
Unlike in this States where we eat them with maple syrup, here in Norway traditionally toppings include a type of sour cream, jam and of course, brown cheese.

Magallan Oslo - Mathallen Oslo is inspired by the great food courts of Europe. Here you can find specialty shops, cafés and a ton of places to eat.
Most stalls are on-par with the higher end of Norwegian prices, so if you’re on a budget, your best bet is to try something international.
My plan however is to stick with Norwegian dishes while I’m here so I convince a local restaurant to cook me some cod cheeks I pick up from a neighboring fish monger.

KOK Oslo - Usually you have to reserve the entire cabin in advance, but there are communal time lots where you can just show up and experience the floating sauna with strangers - and that’s exactly what I did. The only thing is, on this day, nobody else showed up.
I get a rundown on the rules and information from a manager, and then I just get to hang out for two hours.

Norway vs Sweden European Championship - for this one, you just have to get lucky with timing.

This is how I spent one day in Oslo, and these are the best things to do in Oslo (in my opinion and experience) - What else would you recommend?

24 Hours in Oslo, Norway

The girl's trip continues with a stop in Oslo, Norway. There was a marathon in the city which cancelled our tour, so we improvised and got lost in the streets of Oslo.

We stayed at the Scandic Solli Hotel. We took an express train into the city. Once we got the city the streets were walkable and we explored!

LIVING on a HOUSEBOAT in Stavanger, Norway | Norway Travel Guide (Ep 1)

Stavanger, Norway - Steve and I arrived in Norway to begin a two-week adventure around the Western Fjords, Lofoten Islands, and Oslo.
On day one, we were scheduled to hike to the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) however, weather did not allow it.
Instead, we went out and tried to find the best things to do in Stavanger, including a trip to Gamle Stavanger's old town, the Maritime Museum, and we tried some traditional Norwegian Food!
The adventure is only just beginning, so it was a nice relaxing first day in Stavanger, Norway!

Explore Oslo from Just One Tram Ride

#Edutainment #yourway2norway #LifeInNorway
Join us for a real time, guided tram ride. We travel through the city and explore all its colors and nuance’s. Want to know what to do in Oslo if you have some hours to spend as a visitor here? Or, you just want an authentic and exotic inside tour of the capital in Norway, behind the tourist attractions? Watch this video. In the end we will present a secret gem, a park to hang out with the locals. Tram 12 covers most of inner city – and drives from the east to the west side. The differences are striking. Both in scenery and in culture.
This is a real-life experience on a packed and warm tram with dirty windows covered in graffiti. You will enjoy beautiful scenery, the ocean, people in the streets, parks, houses, monuments, stores, cafes, bars and a lot more. You will get tips for a cool, but unknown shopping street, where you can buy contemporary Norwegian design and enjoy an organic meal. We will show you the diversity in food options and ride by the cool bars and clubs.
Ronald will explain what you see and be your guide. Mads will be the sidekick and record the whole ride and the little episodes that occur along the route. Ronald knows this tram route inside out and will share his knowledge and enthusiasm for Oslo. Mads is not so found of moving too far from home. You will learn new stuff about Norwegians and maybe change the way you see these people and culture. Even though this is a small city, its very divided. The rich, posh west end with high life expectancy and healthy habits. The diverse hipster area mixed with poverty and drug addicts on the east side.

*** ABOUT yourway2norway (your travel guide to Norway and to understand the Norwegian culture) ***
yourway2norway (your travel guide to Norway and to understand the Norwegian culture) is a different travel channel. We combine education with humor and entertainment. It’s an authentic inside guide to real life in Norway. We highlight small and large themes, cultural characteristics and Norwegian phenomena. All the stuff you won’t find in a tourist brochure.
The content is perfect for people who travel to Norway as tourists, visit friends and family in Norway, study in Norway or work in Norway. It is ideal for anyone with Norwegian roots and DNA. It is also interesting for anyone who wants to learn more about other cultures and people. And for all of you looking for some smile and laughter.
The guys behind are; Ronald Sagatun – a enthusiastic and sarcastic Sami Latino with a Norwegian passport. Throughout his life he has tried to find out what it means to be Norwegian. Now he shares his hilarious experiences. Mads is a grumpy Norwegian dude, providing the channel authenticity and the typical Norwegian way of viewing the world. We always try to be funny, self-deprecating, human and, when it´s necessary; sincere and passionate.

What To See In Oslo Norway In 2 Days (Day 1)

Read Full Blog Post HERE:

When translated into English, Oslo means expensive.
I kid, I kid, but seriously Oslo is expensive. On the night we arrived, we wanted a place to sit and review our big ‘What To See In Oslo, Norway’ list. We stumbled across this cute little pizzeria beside Oslo Cathedral called Cafe Cathedral.
One pizza, one beer and a shot of the local drink called Aquavit (more on that later) ran us about 420 Norway Crowns which in Canadian dollars is approximately $70.00.
The 24 pass is perfect for one day in Oslo; the 48 pass is ideal for 2 days in Oslo while the 72-hour pass is excellent for 3 days in Oslo. Each version gives you access to all the museums, all transportation and 10 to 20 percent off selected stores and restaurants.

Exotic Norwegian Salmon Burger ???? In Oslo city Norway

*** Eat Norwegian Salmon ???? in Norway ???????? ***

From smallest kitchen comes the best fish in Norway. I'm talking about fiskeriet which is half fish market and half restaurant in Oslo city center .

After speaking to few locals I found out that about this place called Fiskeriet.Fiskeriet is a combined restaurant and a fish monger. The place initially use to be one of the oldest fishmongers in the country. But since last century fishmongers have been closing down due to low profits. For those who are thinking what fishmongers are!it’s a place where they sell wild caught fish.In other words like a small fish market.

Fiskeriet is really a unique place to eat.So this is how it works, you come select your fish from the small fishmonger and then sit down at one of the tables.
Grab a glass of Nordic beer and munch your favorite salmon

During my conversation with the staff, they said “Baba we only sell wild fish which line-caught and not by trawling. She continued that once a year, fish and chips from Fiskeriet are served even to the parties at the royal house.
