This is Wadi Lahami, Fury Shoals (4k) - Red Sea Diving Safari
Wonderful diving in the 'deep south' of The Red Sea in Egypt at Wadi Lahami - Fury Shoals.
Wadi Lahami is the most southern village of Red Sea Diving Safari (180 km south of Marsa Alam airport). From there we made 16 dives on the world famous Fury Shoals. Wadi Lahami Village gives the opportunity to dive on the reefs that were previously only accessible for liveaboards.
The Fury Shoals offer very nice reef structures such as caves and reef blocks that allow the sunlight to enter beautifully. Several wrecks can also be found there are slowly overgrown by corals.
Diving locations in the south are still quiet, so they work like a magnet on all kinds of fish and other marine life, beautiful coral gardens full of life are everywhere, and a group of dolphins lives at the famous 'Sataya reef' and can be seen while snorkeling.
Dive sites: Sharbour, Torfa, Lahami South, Habili Gazella, Abu Galawa Small (wreck dive), Shaab Claudia, Abu Galawa Big (wreck dive), Banana Reef, Iron Garden (wreck dive), Shaab Angel, Shaab Malahi, Habili Daisy and Satayah (snorkeling with dolphins).
This movie is the result of around 12 hours of 4k video footage. Shot in December 2019.

Marsa Shagra Rotes Meer Tauchsafari 2018
May 2018 - Southern Egypt/ Marsa Alam.
We spent one week in Marsa Shagra Eco Village with Red Sea Diving Safari.
The village ist one of the oldest - meaning one of the first hotels and destinations especially for divers in southern Egypt.
Marsa means natural bay so there's a natural sandy entrance opening to the Red Sea and the fringing coral reef.
The Hotel used to be a tent only camp but has been and keeps being renovated and now one can choose between staying in a luxurious tent or a bungalow with A/C.
It became a hot spot for divers who seek unspoiled house reef diving on a non-limit base. That means as an advanced diver you just go get a tank, put your name and dive plan on the white board and off you go to explore the underwater world that lies to your feet.
There is a reef to the northern and southern side along the coast and you can plan your dives as from the beach back to the beach or you can use a Zodiak to take you out and pick you up.
The house reef is a rich and unspoiled coral habitat with all the typical life of the Red Sea to a depth of 20+ meters, then the sandy bottom leads to a drop of at 30+ meters.
Off shore lies a couple of fantastic and world known dive sites such as Elphinstone, Shab Abu Dabab and others usually only visited by divers on a liveaboard safari.
In this video I used footage of our dives at the house reef and of the trips we did to Elphinstone, Marsa Abu Dabab and Shab Abu Dabab 3.

Marsa Nakari is a charming village featuring a sheltered bay just 18 km south of Marsa Alam city. Its main appeal is its proximity to the Samadai protectorate (Dolphin House); one of the Red Sea’s most important national parks. The coral reef system of this off-shore reef and the dolphins that inhabit its lagoon are one of the southern Red Sea’s most popular attractions. Our operation offers exclusive access to this beautiful site by day boat. There are various other attractions including another national park called Wadi el Gemal. The Reserve area includes marine and terrestrial components. Wadi El Gemal and its delta are the central theme of the terrestrial reserve area while the marine component of the protected area encompasses a strip of coastal marine waters featuring patches of mangroves, as well as a number of marine islands (the Hamata archipelago and Wadi El Gemal Island).
Marsa Nakari is also a historical site dating back to the Roman times; known to the ancients as the port of Nechesia. The remains of its ruin are still present atop a hill towards the southern end of the bay.
Being a small village with a maximum occupancy of 120 people; a dedicated staff offers a more personalized service. Expect the silence and serenity of the desert atmosphere and the world-renowned beauty of the Red Sea reefs. Marsa Nakari is a lovely holiday for those seeking to experience Marsa Alam’s true heritage.

For those who do not know the Red Sea, we hope that this video will make you want to dive there and for others to come back.
To conclude, one or two tips for our friends underwater filmmakers or photographers: focus on the magic hours for filming, 6 a.m. and 3 p.m./4 p.m. The light is strong and the visibility pretty good, so up to 20 meters deep you won't really need a filter (if your white balance is properly adjusted). Beyond 20 meters, plan to take a red filter with you.

Diving Egypt / Marsa Alam was filmed with the GoPro HERO 8 Black in 4k 60fps. Scuba Diving in Egypt is a great experience and the underwater world of the Red Sea has really a lot to offer. The footage of this GoPro 8 underwater video is post-processed and no red filter was used. Diving with the GoPro 9 or 8 is a good choice to get awesome underwater footage with a small budget but you have to take the challenge of editing...

From our camp, the Marsa Shagra, we take quick trips with the Zodiac. First we visit the legendary Elphinstone Reef. On the south side we observe a turtle. On the north plateau we meet the resident barracuda and mackerel in the dark blue. Then we go to Abu Dabbab No. 5. The first part of the dive leads through a canyon landscape before we end it in a field of colorful corals and anemones.
