In today's video, I am going to give you a tour of Philipsburg St. Maarten cruise port and city. This Philpsburg cruise port and city tour can be used as a guide for what to do at the cruise port and things to do in walking distance of the cruise port in St. Maarten.
I haven't done to many port tours because usually it's my first time there and it's hard to make a cruise port video and city tour while I'm still discovering the place myself. However, I think I came up with a cruise port tour format that not only gives you useful information but allows me to explore and learn more about the area without having to worry about shooting a video explaining where I am in the moment.

Tour Of St. Martin (St. Maarten) / Exploring The Island On Your Own
We recently took a trip to St. Martin it was one of the stops on our Princess Cruise. This country is known for its beautiful unique beaches and has some great shopping areas. St. Martin or St. Maarten, is divided in half with one side being the Dutch side and the other side being the French side. If your cruise port is in Philipsburg, it is located on the Dutch side. We rented a Jeep for the day and toured both sides of the island. We want to give you a look at both St. Martin and St. Maarten to show you what there is to do here, some of our recommendations, and the overall vibe of the island and residents. Old Street is a beautiful quaint place to visit. The area has been restores since the damage from Hurricane Irma. The old yellow car looks good as new, make sure to stop by to take a picture. Well worth the walk and visiting the shops and dining venues.

WHAT AN AMAZING PORT!! Our First Time in St. Maarten - Harmony of the Seas
I love visitng a cruise port we have never been to before!! Today we are in St. Maarten for the first time! We did not make any plans, no excursions, so we just decided to hop off the ship, take the water taxi into town and go explore.
Let me say, this was such a better experience than we expected!! The water shuttle was a fun ride and the port was great! There was beach access with beautiful water... and a breathtaking view, lots of shops and restaurants... and bars. It is the perfect port to meader for the day and just enjoy the town!

Sint Maarten, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is a country on the southern part of a Caribbean island shared with Saint Martin, a French overseas collectivity. Natural landscapes span lagoons, beaches and salt pans., while the capital, Philipsburg, is situated on a narrow stretch of land between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond. It functions as the commercial center of the island. As of 2006, it has 1,338 inhabitants. The main shopping district, Front Street (in Duth: Voorstraat), is in the heart of the city. This Cruise Port in Philipsburg is a popular cruise-ship visited year round by many cruise liners.

A Day at the Beach in Philipsburg, St. Maarten
One of my favorite beaches to visit while on a cruise is the one right in port in Philipsburg, St. Maarten. Extremely easy to reach, the beach is clean, sand is soft, and water is always the perfect temperature. For about $20 or so, you can get two lounge chairs and an umbrella and spend the entire day relaxing, swimming, or sunning. Within a few steps of the beach you'll find great shopping, restaurants, and bars, too. In the distance you can see the ships in port on this particular day, which were the Norwegian Epic, Disney Magic, P&O Cruises Azura, and Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas.
Philipsburg is the main town and capital of the country of Sint Maarten. The town is situated on a narrow stretch of land between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond. It functions as the commercial center of Saint Martin island, whereof Sint Maarten encompasses the southern half. As of 2006, it has 1,338 inhabitants.
