Don't use Credit Card in these countries

Based on my experience I am sharing a tip for your bank card’s safety while travelling abroad. I travelled from the Western Bus station to my hostel in Bishkek in odd hours when the road was deserted. I have mentioned about the apps which helped me reach my hostel safely. Such apps can be used anywhere in the world for travelling safely, especially when you are a solo female traveller.

The second part of the video is about a popular market in Bishkek called Orto-Sai Bazaar. Most of the shops were running in shipping containers, so for me, it was a container market. Interestingly there are a few more container market in Bishkek, even multi-floored. So if you are looking for cheap stuff in Bishkek, visit these markets. After that, I met my Indian subscribers based in Bishkek. We went to a restaurant for Indian food. So if you are looking for Indian food or restaurants in Bishkek, watch this video.

This video is a part of my Kyrgyzstan travel series - I spent 3 months in Kyrgyzstan in late 2019. Besides Bishkek, Karakol, Issyk Kul (lake) which are the most popular destinations in Kyrgyzstan, I visited some offbeat places like Jyrgalan valley, Song Kul (lake). Did horse riding trips, stayed in Yurt camps, hitchhiked and stayed with locals. I volunteered in village farms, hostels and NGOs to get the holistic experience of my trip and central Asian culture. All this you will find In this series. #Bishkek #TravelVlog #IndianTraveller

Foreigners Can Pay Like Indians Now! India's Amazing UPI

Did you know you don't have to use cash or credit cards when you travel to India? Now foreign tourists can load foreign currency into a digital wallet when they arrive at the airport. This technology is called UPI (Unified Payment Interface) and is India's impressive instant real-time payment system.

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a real-time payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) that facilitates inter-bank transactions. It allows users to transfer money from one bank account to another instantly and securely, without the need for the recipient's bank details like account number or IFSC code.

With UPI, users can make payments using their mobile phones, without the need for cash, credit/debit cards or net banking. UPI transactions can be initiated and completed using mobile apps provided by banks or third-party payment service providers.

UPI has become a popular mode of payment in India since its launch in 2016 and is now widely used for a variety of transactions, including peer-to-peer payments, bill payments, mobile recharges, and online shopping. The success of UPI has helped promote digital payments and financial inclusion in the country.

Don't Fall for this Credit Card Trick When Traveling

Have you been to a store or restaurant in another country and they ask if you want to charge your card in the local currency or in US dollars? What should you do? It depends! This was a common question in Costa Rica. I always chose to pay in Colones (the local Costa Rica currency) because I used a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees. When you pay in dollars, you are paying a higher exchange fee than the one your credit card would automatically use. If you get a foreign transaction fee, that costs 2-3% extra so it depends on your credit card.

Why should you not use your credit card overseas? #finance #shorts #travel @aakanksha_monga

???? If you are going to an international country for the first time, you should be very well aware of the fact that your banks charge you forex fees for swiping the card abroad. Even when you withdraw
cash at the ATMs

Let me give you an example. You withdraw $100 from your debit card abroad. As per your calculation bank should debit 8000 rupees from your bank account. But when you check your
statement you find it amount inflated to 8740.
Wait what happened here?

❌ Your bank charges 3% conversion fees with Rs. 500 per withdrawal.

This will happen every time you withdraw money from the ATM or swipe you card at merchant
location ????

Whether online or offline, always keep in mind that using credit cards abroad attracts currency and network-based charges, such as mark-up fees or foreign currency transaction fee, cash advance fees which can go as high as 5%

What to do?

✅ Use your debit card while choosing to withdraw money from the ATM and choose local currency of the destination otherwise you’ll be charged an extra 3%.

Who is Travel With Dax?

Hello, I’m Dax, and I’ve been Travel Hacking my way around the world since 2017!

I’ve been really lucky to discover it through my wife (she bought an online course) and it took me about a year to watch the first episode as I was really skeptical about it! ????

But after seeing that first episode, I binged watch the rest and got a basic understanding of how it works. The year after that, we flew our very first First Class flight (worth $20,000+) and at that very moment, I knew that Travel Hacking works and got addicted to the hobby! ✈️

A little backstory about us - my wife and I were in a long-distance relationship for almost 8 years (I was living in the US and she was in the Philippines) and it’s been our dream to travel the world together! Now with the help of Travel Hacking, we’ve visited a lot of countries and experienced what the world has to offer all thanks to points and miles!

Come join us in our adventures and learn some travel hacking tips and tricks along the way! ????

Thanks so much for being a part of our journey! Cheers!! ????
