Doi Inthanon national park has so much natural beauty, endless hills and waterfalls on the way. This is great idea for a day trip in Chiang mai, there is a lot things to do in Chiang mai but you cannot miss this trip to Doi Inthanon.
Day trip to the highest point in Thailand is a bit of a drive so you can rent a scooter or go on organised tour. We choose to rent a scooter although our buts were sore on the way back lol.
Doi Inthanon mountain gets a bit cold so remember to take w warm jacket with you as it is the highest mountain in Thailand.

Doi Inthanon national park covers an area of 1,005 square kilometers and is the highest peak mountain point of Thailand which is 2,565 meters above sea level.
Doi Inthanon national park can offer countless amazing travel spots for those who in love with the nature. It is a home to rainforest, mixed forest, and pine forest. The weather here is cool throughout the year, especially in October - December, which is a cool season, and there will be almost constant fog coverage all days and a stunning phenomenon of frost flower in the early morning.
There are many activities to do like hiking in the forest or tribe village, and places to visit, such as Phramahathat Napamathanidol and Phramahathat Napaphol Bhumisiri (The Great Holy Relics Pagodas).

Day Trip to Doi Inthanon National Park from Chiang Mai City Center
Evan and I took a day trip from Chiang Mai City Center to Doi Inthanon National Park. We visited Wachiratan Waterfall and Sirithan Waterfall, had lunch at a hill tribe village, took a nature walk, visited the highest point in Thailand, and explored the Twin (King and Queen) Pagodas.

For me, a day trip here is one of the best things to do in Chiang Mai and you could even stay the night at Doi Inthanon Mountain. I see an incredible waterfall, taste local Chiang Mai coffee, see the Doi Inthanon Twin Pagodas which are dedicated to the King and Queen of Thailand and finally trek a lovely nature trail. Overall, it was a fantastic day trip and a fun journey on the rental bike. The peak of Doi Inthanon sits at 2585m, it is The highest mountain in Thailand.

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we decided to rent a scooter and go on a day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park - home of the highest point in Thailand! Carles had been before many years ago, during April (the hottest month in Thailand). So instead of looking up much information, we just jumped on a bike and went! When we left Chiang Mai it was soo hot outside! However, once we reached the top of Doi Inthanon we were FREEZING!!! We didn't think it got that cold in Thailand! Luckily we were able to grab some hot coffee and continue to explore the different nature trails and see the pagodas in the park.....however the clouds rolled in right as we got to the pagodas and we could not see much at all! This was definitely an experience that we're happy we got to do! However.....if you're going to go, try to be a little more prepared than us ????????

Here I am at Doi Inthanon. It took us nearly 1.5 hours from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon. However, the drive was smooth, and the weather was cooling. Doi Inthanon stands at 2565 metres (8415 feet) and is the highest mountain in Thailand.

The summit itself lacks panoramic views and is surrounded by forest, making it uninteresting. The only thing you'll see there is a sign congratulating you on reaching Thailand's highest point.

Apart from the summit, there are also two chedis (pagodas). The King Chedis (Naphamethinidon (นภเมทินีดล),) and the other, the Queen's Chedis (Naphaphonphumisiri (นภพลภูมิสิริ)). They were built to honour the 60th birthday anniversaries of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1987 and the 60th birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit in 1992, respectively.

TAKING MY MOM TO THAILAND'S HIGHEST MOUNTAIN · DOI INTHANON NATIONAL PARK | TRAVEL VLOG #46
We've been wanting to visit Thailand's highest mountain, Doi Inthanon, for a while, but I wanted to wait and go there with my mom who came to visit us in Chiang Mai with her husband. We chose to spend one of our last days in Chiang Mai outside of the city, so we rented a car and drove a few hours South to the Doi Inthanon National Park.
We had an amazing day, and it was the perfect ending to our time in wonderful Chiang Mai. This is the last Thailand vlog for a while, and after this we're going to Kuala Lumpur for a few days and then to SRI LANKA for almost two months. I'm so excited!

Disaster Strikes at the Highest Point in Thailand - Doi Inthanon National Park
One of the things on our Thailand trip that we were most looking forward to, was seeing the view from the top of Doi Inthanon. It is THE MOST INCREDIBLE VIEW EVER, or so we've been told. Instead of the incredible view, disaster struck in the form of a massive storm that ruined our view, but made for an incredible adventure.
Bonus points to anyone who can count the number of times I say super and puts it in the comment section. It's gotta be at least 100.
Doi Inthanon - Thailand's Highest Mountain (HD)
Doi Intanon is one amazing place located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
This mountain is an ultra prominent peak, known in the past as Doi Luang (meaning big mountain) or Doi Ang Ka, meaning the crow's pond top. Near the mountain's base was a pond where many crows gathered. The name Doi Inthanon was given in honour of King Inthawichayanon, one of the last kings of Chiang Mai, who was concerned about the forests in the north and tried to preserve them. He ordered that after his death his remains be interred at Doi Luang, which was then renamed in his honour.
