Fossil Hunting Dinosaurs in The Badlands

We may not have been able to hunt living-breathing Dinosaurs, but I was able to fulfill a childhood dream of being a paleontologist for a day.

You Won't Believe What I Found at This Popular Michigan Fossil Hunting Location!

Whenever I come to Michigan I HAVE to pay a visit to Partridge Point near Alpena to do some fossil hunting. Partridge Point exposes Devonian aged fossils from the Thunder Bay Limestone which is around 360 million years old! You can find corals, crinoids, brachiopods, bryozoans, and all sorts of other cool marine organisms. This includes something extremely rare for this location that I found in this video. Enjoy!

The Best Megalodon Tooth Hunting Site I Ever Found

I don't throw around the word best especially when it comes to hunting megalodon teeth because there have been so many good spots during my 30+ years of collecting, but I feel confident in using it here. I can't believe how lucky I got finding this spot. It was completely untouched and the bottom of the dig was just at the top of the fossil bearing formation. That meant all I had to do was look down in some spots to find teeth, and in the rest, I only had to dig off a foot or two of overburden. There were bones everywhere which is the tell-tale indicator of megalodon and other fossil shark teeth. It didn't take long to dig one out, then another, and another. Then when I walked on the piles after heavy rain there were more big teeth. All together I was able to collect this site for about a week and I found 17 complete megalodon teeth in that short amount of time. I'm not planning on retiring anytime soon, but it is going to be very difficult to top this spot. Summerville, I love you!

Unbelievable Treasure Hidden in these Rocks! Fossil Hunting in Alpena, Michigan for Ancient Sea Life

It's not everyday I get to find fossils that are over 360 Million Years Old! Down where I live in Florida, about the oldest we get is 50 Million. Which is still insanely old, but geologically speaking it's very young! I've never searched for these types of fossils before, and it was absolutely a pleasure to get out for something new! We found tons of Crinoid pieces, Brachiopods, Corals, and all sorts of stuff from the Devonian Period which was a period of time from around 358 - 419 Million Years Ago! I'll have links here in the description providing more information about the fossil remains we found in this video!

Kilve Beach Fossil Dig. Part 1. Joseph Hubbard. Creationresearchuk.com

Kilve Beach is a famous fossil finding location in Somerset. Joseph Hubbard, Creationresearchuk.com leads a fossil dig from a biblical creation perspective. Teaching on the local geology and explaining the fossil finds along the way. This is part 1.

A Handful of 30 Million Year Old Fossil Whale Teeth

We found a pond with really good Chandler Bridge formation exposed. We found the usual assortment of nice shark teeth but this spot had quite a few fossil whale teeth, too. Always fun to find find those - it was a period of time where whales were evolving rapidly so there is a lot to be learned from intact skulls. Unfortunately I didn't find a skull this time around, but there were enough teeth to make me think there was one somewhere!

You've NEVER SEEN Calcite Crystals Quite Like This! EPIC Florida Fossil Hunting and Rockhounding

This has been something I've really been wanting to do since my buddy Derek showed me some pieces of this incredible calcite he found a couple of years ago. These are fossil coral heads that have been replaced with beautiful pointy calcite crystals! It was a fun adventure searching for these treasures for two warm 80 degree January days here in Florida. Hope y'all enjoy the video!

Fossil Park Sylvania Ohio

Press Conference: New Scientific Evidence Indicates Tyrannosaurs Were Social Hunters

Press Conference: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah announces publication of peer-reviewed research based on a fossil site inside Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The paper provides new evidence that fearsome tyrannosaur dinosaurs may not have been solitary predators as popularly envisioned, but social carnivores, similar to wolves.

The findings about Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument’s very own “dinocidal” tyrannosaur (Teratophoneus-pronounced Ter-at-oe-foh-nee-us) were released through publication in the open-access scientific journal PeerJ on April 19. View the press release here: go.usa.gov/xHKsA.

Mountainside Ammonite Fossil Hike (BC, Rocky Mountains)

Not very far from Fernie, BC there is an ancient ammonite fossil along a riverbed that can be hiked to in around an hour. An ammonite was a prehistoric creature from the late Jurassic period around 150 million years ago. This specific specimen was first discovered in 1947 and is the largest complete fossil in Canada! Conservation in the area has not gone well so make sure to get a look before it disappears forever.
