Cool Things To Do In Harare

How to spend your layover in Harere

More attractive than most other Southern African capitals, Harare gets a bad rap and unjustly so.

While it’s certainly not without its problems, overall it’s a safe and laid-back city where wide avenues are lined with dusty red earth, and indigenous plants and blooming jacarandas give it a lovely African summertime feel.

While it’s tempting to rush off to your safari, it’s worth hanging around in Harare to sample its fine dining, museums, craft markets and varied bars.

What to do in Harare for 24h to 48h?

This Is Zimbabwe, Harare Africa you don't See on TV #Zimbabwe Africa Ep 8

This is Harare, Zimbabwe. Africa you don't See on TV.Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe. it has a population of about 1.7 million people. It was formerly called Salisbury until 1982. It is also the most populous city in Zimbabwe.
We have all heard a lot of things about Zimbabwe. Surprisingly, a lot of people still ask me if Zimbabweans go to buy bread with money full on wheelbarrows. Well today I shall be showing you what Zimbabwe CBD really looks like. Let's see if we shall spot money on wheelbarrows.

One thing you should have noticed by now is that there's no motorbikes here. Apparently motorbikes or bodaboda or okada are not allowed as a means of public transport. I think this is really nice and reduces chaos in the city.

I Just Became A Trillionaire In Zimbabwe (#176)

Maybe you've heard about inflation in Argentina or Venezuela, or 1920s Germany if you're old school. Yeah, those countries had a crazy situation, but none of them come close to Zimbabwe, a country that really puts the hyper in hyperinflation. The largest bill they ever printed, which is also the largest in history, was 100 trillion dollars, which at it's peak was worth $0.80. Nowadays it goes for much more as a collector's item.

This was all I had ever heard about Zimbabwe. But that was more the result of one man's poor economic policies. What were the people of Zimbabwe like? What does the country look like in 2024? How is the food and matakos? Due to the turbulent history the country had with race, I was a little nervous flying in. But there was only one way to find out..

The mighty Zimbabwe returning to the top [Zimbabwe Economic analysis 2021]

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers. Surrounded by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the south-west, Zambia to the north, and Mozambique to the east.
This country is blessed with amazing fauna and flora, minerals and many other natural resources. it is one of the world’s biggest producer of Gold, and the third biggest producers of Platinum after Russia and South Africa.
Zimbabwe is a low middle income economy country, in the same group with the likes of Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria. the country managed to make a comeback after being downgraded to low income country by the World Bank, in 2019. Natural disaster, land reform and a decrease in production have plagued Zimbabwe economy since year 2000. However, Zimbabwe showed a steady growth recently, expecting growth rate of 3.9 percent in 2021, according to the World Bank reviews, a significant improvement after a two-year recession, due to Covid nineteen among other reasons.

Hello and welcome, if you have not subscribed yet, Please subscribe, and join us as we tell the untold story of Africa.

The Economy of Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe's economy is now the fastest growing economy in Sub Sahara Africa according to the World Bank. The economy of Zimbabwe is expected to grow faster than its neighbors, rising from 3.9% in 2021, to 5.1% by 2022, compared to average growth rate for Sub Saharan Africa which is 2.8% in 2021.
Gross domestic product is estimated to be 21 Billion, in 2020, slightly less than Zambia and more than of Botswana. The GDP per Capita is currently standing at US$ 1,128.00, after 2 consecutive years of economy contraction. World Bank analysts estimates Zimbabwe unemployment rate to be about 5%, not 95% of popular belief.

Ongoing major projects to resolve power issues

The total power station infrastructure installed across Zimbabwe has a total output capacity of approximately 1,940 Megawatts, just a small difference to 2,200 Megawatts of country demand. However, due to decommissioning and lack of maintenance, the country is currently producing 845 Megawatts only, of its own electricity, then source the balance from neighboring countries.
In the past 3 years, Zimbabwe has experience worst power cuts. In order to address this issue, the government has been working around the clock, since 2018 to rehabilitate, upgrade and recommission these power stations, across the country. Upon completion of these following ongoing projects, Zimbabwe will have sufficient electricity for both national consumption and exporting to other countries.
