Addis Ababa is a relatively small capital city, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with its vibrant cosmopolitan culture. Here, you will find some of the best food in the country (with many nods from international chefs) as well as a thriving coffee culture - a legacy of the erstwhile Italian influence during its attempted occupation during the interwar years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time ambling around the capital, taking in the sights and wandering the greenspaces, then enjoying the creature comforts that come with visiting a booming metropolitan center. Ethiopia is a hard country to travel pretty much everywhere else - so this level of development is a refreshing opportunity to recharge your batteries, and is the perfect place to both start and end any trip throughout this beautiful country.
