Titanic Survivor Claims an Iceberg Didn't Destroy the Ship

Have you ever met a person who hasn’t ever heard the story of Titanic? Unlikely. Even if you ask a 10-year-old, they’ll tell you exactly what took down the gigantic ship. However, some survivors of the sinking legend would beg to differ. Here’s one of their stories, and it has nothing to do with an iceberg.

Armenian publicist Vaghinak Byurat was 25 years old in the spring of 1912. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs. He’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion. And if what he said was true, something must have caused that huge explosion...

???? Btw, guys, there is a cat hidden in this video. If you can spot our furry little guy, you're much more attentive than most people! Do you accept the challenge? ????

SUMMARY:
- Armenian publicist Vaghinak Byurat was 25 years old in the spring of 1912. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs.
- In 1912, Vaghinak published some books together with his father, a famous Armenian writer. His task was to take the books to America.
- They went to bed rather late on April 14, just like on the other nights. Shortly after midnight, something that sounded like a big explosion woke everyone up.
- None of the crew members wanted to say anything, but a few minutes later it was impossible to deny that the Titanic was going underwater.
- Vaghinak put his passport and money in a little bag and tied it around his neck. The Titanic’s bow was already underwater by that time. A lot of people in this situation wouldn’t have dared to take it to the open water.
- The water in the North Atlantic that night was just below freezing, at a scary 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2 C). The young writer felt his arms and legs go numb, and he was understandably getting weaker and weaker every second.
- Then, he bumped into something. It was a lifeboat! But it was so overcrowded they pushed the young man with a paddle when he tried to stick to the boat.
- Vaghinak woke up alive on board another ship. That ship was the Carpathia, and it was en route to New York with lucky survivors on board.
- 12 days later, a woman came into the room. She turned out to be the person who saved Vaghinak. Missis Astor told the sailors that the young man was her son, and she wouldn’t let them go without him since she’d already lost her husband on the Titanic.
- Vaghinak lived a long and happy life and, as a great storyteller, he shared what happened to him many times. Interestingly, he’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion.
- It could have been a fire, and quite a lot of people actually believe that theory, saying that coal was burning in the ship’s hull.
- Another theory that explained the explosion claimed that there was a German U-boat involved in the sinking of Titanic.

The Best Megalodon Tooth Hunting Site I Ever Found

I don't throw around the word best especially when it comes to hunting megalodon teeth because there have been so many good spots during my 30+ years of collecting, but I feel confident in using it here. I can't believe how lucky I got finding this spot. It was completely untouched and the bottom of the dig was just at the top of the fossil bearing formation. That meant all I had to do was look down in some spots to find teeth, and in the rest, I only had to dig off a foot or two of overburden. There were bones everywhere which is the tell-tale indicator of megalodon and other fossil shark teeth. It didn't take long to dig one out, then another, and another. Then when I walked on the piles after heavy rain there were more big teeth. All together I was able to collect this site for about a week and I found 17 complete megalodon teeth in that short amount of time. I'm not planning on retiring anytime soon, but it is going to be very difficult to top this spot. Summerville, I love you!

Digging for Megalodon Teeth in South Carolina

When there is a spot to go digging for megalodon teeth in South Carolina, time is of the essence. These giant shark teeth from the greatest predators Earth has ever known are the prize of lowcountry collectors and word spreads like wildfire when good hunting grounds open up. It doesn't matter how many people are looking, no new teeth are being made and the spots don't last long, sometimes only a few days, so we have to hit it hard while we can. So far, nobody else has been at this shark tooth hunting spot and the finds have been pretty good. You saw the last two digging videos, right? There are gorgeous megalodon teeth here! We aren't just tripping over them but at least they are here so we have to give it our best while we can. Diva gave her metal detector a rest while the weezling took a break from being all grown up to come out and dig like a kid again and both of them found some good teeth. I had a really good day and scored two megs on this dig!

The Bermuda Triangle is Hella Weird! Here's 10 Reasons Why

Get more Tips here!

The Bermuda Triangle is a mysterious place in the Atlantic Ocean that has boggled our minds for centuries. Christopher Columbus was the first to report erratic compass readings and a great flame of fire as he sailed through the region. Countless ships and aircraft have vanished while venturing inside it, and despite all that has been reported, there’s still so much information many people aren’t aware of.
Here are 10 bizarre facts about the Bermuda Triangle that might surprise you.

1. Governmental Denial
With thousands of people who’ve gone missing, you’d think the government would launch an investigation into what really goes on in one of the strangest regions of the ocean. But government officials and scientists don’t think there’s anything mysterious going on there at all.

2. Time Travel
In December of 1970, Pilot Bruce Gernon was traveling to Florida with his father and a business associate and took off from Andros, Bahamas. Once they flew closer to the triangle, they noticed a cloud hanging low over the ocean. As they got closer to the cloud, it grew bigger and began to engulf them. Inside, they described the cloud as dark with bright flashes of light. They radioed into the air traffic controllers, who located their plane in Palm Beach, Florida. Gernon had somehow managed to complete his 75-minute flight in just 47-minutes. To this day, he still can’t explain how they had managed to leap forward 100 miles.

3. Its Pacific Sister
The Bermuda Triangle may be unique, but rumor has it, the region has a sister that’s located in the Pacific Ocean. (62-miles off the coast of Tokyo) In the 1950s, a vessel with more than 700 sailors disappeared, and various ships and planes have also vanished in the area.

4. Its Weapon Test Area
The U.S. government set up a facility in the Bahamas that faces a deep, oceanic trench. The Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center – (AUTEC) is used by the U.S. Navy to test submarines and various weapons.

5. It Has Ties to Atlantis
No one’s quite sure whether Atlantis was an actual city or a mythical island. Those who do believe in its legend think the city was swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle after the last Ice Age.

6. It’s Not Really a Triangle
Even though it’s commonly referred to as a triangle because of its points between Bermuda; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Miami Florida; it doesn’t have any official boundaries, as disappearances have happened in all of the surrounding areas including the center and on the perimeter.

7. Erratic Compass
In December 1945, a group of Navy bombers took off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to conduct airfield tests. But their compasses began to malfunction, and the leader of the mission went severely off course. All five planes followed and eventually ran out of fuel and had no choice but to ditch at sea. The triangle is said to be one of the few places on Earth where a compass will point towards true north, misleading dozens of travelers.

8. Methane Gas
Methane gas is reportedly trapped thousands of feet below the Bermuda Triangle’s ocean floor. When the gas is released, it supposedly changes the buoyancy levels of the water, causing ships to sink almost instantly. The methane also has the ability to erupt and ignite passing aircraft. Many believe this explains the strange occurrences that have happened nearby.

9. It’s Not a Recognized Space
Even though the three points are well-known as the Bermuda Triangle, this area of the ocean isn’t found on any world maps, and the US Navy refers to it as open ocean. Although people refer to the triangle, it’s nothing more than imaginary lines.

10. It’s Massive
When you view the area on a map, it looks relatively small. But it covers approximately 500,000 square miles of ocean. It’s also insanely deep. Studies have shown that the floor of this particular section of the ocean is riddled with sloping mountains, deep craters, and never-ending ravines.

Which of these bizarre facts surprised you the most?

Mariana Trench: The 10 Surprizing Truths Of The Deepest Ocean Mariana Trench

#Marianatrench#Deepestoceanmarianatrench#Oceanmarianatrench

Find out what's in the Deep Ocean?

Here are some curious realities around Mariana's trench.

The Deep Ocean is the lowest layer of the ocean, below the thermocline layer at a depth of over 1828 m. Very little or no light can enter this area, and most organisms depend on organic material falling from the photon zone. For this reason, scientists think that life in this place will be very little, but with the equipment that can dive into the depths, it is found that there is quite a lot of life in this arena.

In 1960, Bathyscaphe Trieste headed to the base of the Mariana Trench, at a depth of 35,798 feet (10,911 m), the deepest point on earth. If Mount Everest is drowned, its peak will be more than a mile from the surface. At this depth, small fish-like flounder look.

The Japanese research submarine, Kaiko, is the only one that can reach this depth, and then disappeared in 2003.

We know the moon more than the deep ocean. Until 1970, little was known about the possibility of life in the deep ocean. But the discovery of shrimp colonies and other organisms around the hydrothermal vents changed that view. The organisms live in an anaerobic and lightless state at high salinity and 149 oC. They depend on hydrogen sulfide, which is very toxic to life on land. This revolutionary discovery of life without light and oxygen increases the likelihood of life elsewhere in the universe. The researchers speculate that Europa, one of Jupiter's moons may have conditions that could support life.

Discover the secret of Marianas Trench - DS 58

Discover the secret of Marianas Trench - DS 58

The Mariana Trench or Marianas Trench is the deepest part of the world's oceans. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, an average of 200 kilometres (124 mi) to the east of the Mariana Islands, in the Western Pacific East of Philippines. It lies on the bottom of the Pacific Northwest , to the east of the Mariana Islands .

It reaches a maximum-known depth of 10,994 metres (36,070 ft). It was first explored in 1951 by the Royal Navy 's Challenger II , so it was named the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, the Challenger Chasm . Using techniques reflection of sound waves , the ship Challenger II measured a depth of 5960 fathoms(10,900 m) at coordinates 11 ° 19 'North and 142 ° 15' East.

In 1984 , Japan sent the Takuyo , a highly specialized survey vessel to the Mariana Trench for data collection using multiple beam and narrow-beam reflex receivers; They report a maximum depth of 10,924 m (35,840 ft). The most accurate measurements have been made on the detector Kaiko Japanese on December 24 month 3 year 1995 results 10 911 m (35 798 ft).

The trench is not the part of the seafloor closest to the center of the Earth. This is because the Earth is not a perfect sphere; its radius is about 25 kilometres (16 mi) less at the poles than at the equator. As a result, parts of the Arctic Ocean seabed are at least 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) closer to the Earth's center than the Challenger Deep seafloor.

In 2008, the deepest living fish of the ocean, at a depth of 7,700 meters at the Japanese trenches, was found, and other organisms such as crustaceans were found in deeper places.

On 1 June 2009, sonar mapping of the Challenger Deep by the Simrad EM120 sonar multibeam bathymetry system for deep water, mapping aboard the RV Kilo Moana (mothership of the Nereus vehicle), indicated a spot with a depth of 10,971 metres (35,994 ft).

The Mariana Trench is a site chosen by researchers at Washington University and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in 2012 for a seismic survey to investigate the subsurface water cycle. Using both ocean-bottom seismometers and hydrophones the scientists are able to map structures as deep as 97 kilometres (60 mi) beneath the surface.
