AFRICA - FROM GAMBIA TO DAKAR (KARANG - DAKAR) 4K
From Banjul north to Dakar, you first have to take the ferry across the mouth the Gambia River to Barra. On the Barra side there's plenty of transport to the border at Karang and the occasional bus straight through to Dakar. From Karang you can get to and and from other destinations in northern and central Senegal. More drivers accept dalasi, but prefer to charge fares in CFA. There is no bank in Barra or Karang so you should change dalasi into CFA in Banjul before starting your journey.

On the narrow streets, colonial buildings include the House of Slaves, now a museum. The 19th-century Fort d’Estrées houses the IFAN Historical Museum, with exhibits on Senegal’s past. The Henriette Bathily Women’s Museum considers the role of women in West African society.

The island of Gorée lies off the coast of Senegal, opposite Dakar. From the 15th to the 19th century, it was the largest slave-trading centre on the African coast. Ruled in succession by the Portuguese, Dutch, English and French, its architecture is characterized by the contrast between the grim slave-quarters and the elegant houses of the slave traders. Today it continues to serve as a reminder of human exploitation and as a sanctuary for reconciliation.

How To Spend A long weekend in Popenguine, Senegal
In this video, I will show you some snippets of a weekend trip to Popenguine, Senegal. I traveled there with two friends and my boyfriend. It remains my favorite weekend destination in Senegal. It's pretty affordable, and the beaches are fantastic. We stayed in an Airbnb, which came up to about $35 per person for two nights, with incredible ocean views, a natural pool, and a housekeeper who prepared lunch for us each day.
From this residence, we could walk to almost all the restaurants and sights in the town. Keep an eye out because I will likely do a longer video with more shots of properties in Popenguine, the best places to eat, and what to do in this really endearing town 1hr outside of Dakar.

Nach vier Wochen der Planung und Vorbereitung ging es Anfang März los, endlich Marokkko und Mauretanien. Insgesamt war ich vier Wochen unterwegs. Ich werde die den Tripp in drei Clips aufteilen. Teil eins, Marokko // Tanger Med – Atlantic, Teil 2, durch die Westsahara nach Mauretanien und zurück nach Tan Tan. Der dritte Teil führt mich durch den Anti Atlas in den Hohe Atlas über die Weiten der östlichen Wüste nach Nador. Also viel spaß mit Teil oans.

After four weeks of planning and preparation, we started at the beginning of March, finally Morocco and Mauritania. I was away for four weeks in total. I'm going to split the trip into three clips. Part One, Morocco // Tanger Med – Atlantic, Part 2, through Western Sahara to Mauritania and back to Tan Tan. The third part leads me through the Anti Atlas into the High Atlas over the vastness of the eastern desert to Nador. So have fun with part one.

What was supposed to be a 4 day passage turned into 6 days. Then when we had to navigate through a maze of fishing nets laid out near the coast as we were approaching our destination, Dakar Senegal.
