DON’T make this mistake in Japan⛩️

This is how we avoided he crowds at the famous torii gate walkway in Kyoto????

This place, called Fushimi Inari Taisha, has been all over social media lately, and it's of course a really cool spot. Sadly, however, it's hard to appreciate the beauty and tranquility with thousands of other people around⛩

There are as many as 10,000 Shinto torii gates here and the full loop takes 1-2 hours to complete????

Save this for your future Japan trip or share it with someone who's going????

Things Okay in Japan but Illegal Around the World

Use my code PAOLO15 at to get $15 off your first Bokksu Japanese snack box!

Shocking Laws okay in Japan, but illegal around the world. So I’ve made videos before on things you can’t do in Japan because of laws or unknown laws that could get you arrested, but in this video I wanted to switch things up a little and share with you some things that are legal in Japan but may be illegal in other parts of the world. Many think that Japan is a very strict country, but when you hear some of these Japanese laws you may be scratching your head. And to be clear from the start, I don’t recommend doing any of these things. I’m not providing legal advice and this is for entertainment only.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Why Japanese Don't Like Foreigners

10 Reasons Why Japanese Don't Like Foreigners. Thanks to Squarespace, get 10% Off: Japan tourists or foreigners coming to Japan may not understand Japanese culture because of this some Japanese dislike foreigners for not understanding Japanese manner and etiquette. As a generalization, Japanese follow the rules and get frustrated when people don't follow those rules, but often time they generally avoid confrontation when they have these sort of issues. Based on my experience, this is why Japanese don't like foreigners and tourists and what they are really thinking when foreigners break the rules. I can't stress enough that these are generalizations and not everyone is like this as everyone is unique, but for the purpose of this video and to show what Japanese may be getting pissed off about, I speak in general terms. These are my Japan tips for tourists to help them understand Japanese manners so they don't make those tourist mistakes in Japan or in that they may be unknowingly viewed as misbehaving tourists in Japan. Although some Japanese hate foreigners for doing things in the video, some other Japanese may be okay with the behavior but again I am speaking in general terms. In general, I don't think foreigners want to be rude tourists in Japan, but because they don't understand Japanese rules or Japanese manner they make the classical foreigner mistakes in Japan. These are must-know Japan tips to and a Japan guide when visiting Japan.

How NOT to Travel Kyoto, Japan ⛩???? Is Kyoto Worth Visiting in 2024?

In mid-March, me and my younger brother set out on a trip of a lifetime to explore Japan. From Tokyo, we took the shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto - one of the most popular sights in the whole of Japan. We expected it would be busy on the charming streets of the old town geisha district in Gion and all around the most popular sights but nothing can prepare you for the overcrowded landmarks. For someone who loves to take time to admire the architecture and details of everyday life, this was quite unenjoyable.

We quickly learned that Kyoto has so much more to offer than the hyped Instagrammable locations, sometimes just a corner away from the popular sights. We got totally lost in the narrow streets, exploring Kyoto at a much slower pace and really taking in the culture.

There is definitely more than one way to travel and explore Kyoto. You can follow the crowd and wait in line to take those photos or you can venture away and find your own little gems - there were plentiful! In this video, I share some of the tourist traps, my recommendations in Kyoto and my preferred method to really embrace this incredible city.

I spent 3 HOURS taking a trip that SHOULD have taken 15minutes!
Luckily I became a pro so YOU don't have to make the same mistakes I did.

Here are my 5 STEPS to not make Japanese Public Transport a Breeze

1)TICKETS

The train system is owned by three different companies
Suica cards are prepaid cards that cover ALL the trains. You can buy a card at a machine inside the airport for 500yen and return the card for a full refund at the same machine before you fly back home.
Suica cards are GREAT because it is just ONE LESS thing you have to stress about while running around the stations. Just scan when you go in and scan when you go out. (I was confused about the scan when you go out portion so don’t feel like your locked in. Just scan.)
There are kiosks EVERYWHERE to recharge the card.
Also you can use it to buy things at shops like 7-11

2)WHICH TRAIN

There is an app for the trains but google maps works fine too to find out which train you need to catch.

3) NAVIGATING THE STATION

Google maps will give you
Train name
Stop Number
Platform Number

Stations ARE FULL OF INFORMATION written in English and Japanese everywhere so if you know your info you will be fine.

Double check the stop number because each Train has a sister with the same name that goes the opposite direction.
The way you tell these two apart is the stop number next to the name.

4) GETTING OFF AT THE RIGHT STOP

Remember that you are underground so google maps doesn’t know where you are. So DON’T follow the little traveling dot on your screen.
Know the stop number you are getting off at you can either count or some trains have screens you can watch.

5)EXITING

Hardest part of the whole thing is finding the exit so
Follow the lil green guys.
ALSO you have to scan your card leaving the station as well.
