its been a while since i installed the dual battery system and alot of you have asked questions about it, i'd figure i'd to a review video. luckily, it hasnt caught fire or anything, hasnt even blown a fuse which is good.
its been working without fault for the past 6 months and im loving it! in this review i will go over the basic functions of the dual battery system, why i like it, what i would change, what i will be adding, and why you might need on for your rig.

Camping with Lithium [ The Perfect Dual Battery Setup ]
Camping with Lithium , the perfect dual battery setup going forward.
This is my new look, Lithium dual battery setup for camping while Im out in the bush.
I have recently changed my dual battery setup in my 4WD from a lead acid battery under the bonnet to a light weight 100 amp hour lithium battery thats mounted inside my 4WD, this new setup runs all of my camping accessories.
There's a lot of advantages making the change from a big, heavy lead acid battery to a light weight lithium battery.
A lithium battery is about half of the weight, coming in at around 15 kgs.
You can use 100% of a lithium battery before it needs to be charged, where as the lead acid battery has only about 50% of the batteries capacity that is useable. Below that, you run the risk of damaging that battery.
It is a costly replacement changing over to running a lithium dual battery set up for camping accessories.
But, it is the way of the future going forward.

This is how I’ve temporarily set up power to the accessories in my tundra. Overlanding doesn’t require a lot but when you decide to upgrade, keeping it as simple as possible can be preferred. I used this truck fridge once and it ran fantastic as well as the dual battery I installed to power the fridge. Setpower has a great budget fridge for the budget weekend overlander.

Dual Battery Isolator Install (Step by step)
Step by step Battery Isolator install (12V 140 Amp Dual Battery Isolator by KeyLine Chargers - Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) Pro Dual Battery Kit). This isolator kit connects the starter battery in your vehicle to a secondary “house” battery. The isolator tests for a proper charge level from the starter battery prior to charging the 2nd battery. If the starter battery falls below the starting threshold the isolator will shut off so that the starting battery still retains enough starting power, and does not get drained. I've found it to be a better investment than solar, and if I had it to do over again I would do the isolator first, and then add solar panels.
This system also allows for powering the auxiliary battery with a solar panel with a charge controller. This facilitates long-term boondocking by providing power for your electronics.

Jeep Wrangler Jk | JKU - DIY Auxiliary Power Source Mod Using Jeeps Factory Tow Package & New Light
What’s up y’all, welcome back. I just installed this really cool light on the lift gate glass of our 2015 Jeep Wrangler jku it’s super bright, scatters a ton of light and is controlled by a simple on off switch. I’ve also tapped into jeeps “hidden Auxiliary power source”, by tapping into the factory mopar tow package. Thought I’d share this because it seems useful and I know there are a few JK owners here that may have a tow package and need some auxiliary power in the back of there jeep for lights and accessories. On my jeep with a factory tow wiring harness, there’s a red 12v hot wire protected and ran from the battery to the back of the tow connection outlet. That wire is an Extra ran 14g wire that doesn’t get used for towing! Why not use it? And what do you use it for?
To protect this circuitry i now use 7.5 amp inline fuse
Remember the longer the wire the less amps it will carry.
You will need to measure the length wire and fuse the circuit properly
Example:
If you extend the 14g wire to 15ft fuse for 7.5 amps maximum
16 guage wire at 15ft can carry 5 amp = fuse 5 amp
12 guage wire at 15ft can carry 10amp =fuse 10 amp
14 guage wire at 15ft can carry 7.5amos = fuse 7.5
10 guage wire at 15ft can carry 15amps = fuse 15 amp

How To Power Your Entire RV With An Inverter | Easy Inverter Power
Today we show you how to power your entire RV with an inverter...well, ALMOST your entire RV. We recently upgraded to a Renogy 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter. We did this so we could power all of the outlets in our RV and run everything except the high load appliances (A/C & microwave). Also, I make sure to switch the refrigerator and water heater to run on propane. While this is not a complicated setup, you do need to be mindful of what is on and running while the inverter is on. We will show you our entire setup and how we manage and keep track of our power usage. We may upgrade in the future, but this setup is working out GREAT so far!

The Best Dual Batteries for an Overland Rig
We cover how we came to a decision on the batteries for our dual battery systems for both Project 2016 4runner Trail premium and Project 05 Hundy - 2005 land cruiser. We go over key battery specifications, types, match vs mixed configurations, and our ultimate decision. We compared optima, interstate and odyssey batteries and how those work with slee offroad and other kits. This equipment is essential if you plan on any extended overland expiditions especially if your expedetion takes you off-grid for more than a day.
