WHAT YOU CAN & CAN’T SEND WITH DHL
what you can not send with the courier?
There are some obvious things that you cannot send with DHL (such as animals, illegal substances, guns and explosives for instance). But there are also less obvious items that DHL can’t transport, including aerosols, perfumes, aftershaves, Eau de toilettes and cash. See below to find out what you cannot send.
For international carriage, there may be additional prohibited items specified by the country of destination.

WHAT YOU CAN'T SEND
The following items will NOT be accepted for carriage by DHL. This list includes items which are prohibited for carriage by any law, regulation or statute of any federal, state or local government of any country from, to or through which the items may be carried. For international carriage, there may be additional prohibited items specified by the country of destination. DHL may at its sole discretion refuse to carry other items not listed below.
Alcohol – to other EU countries (sending alcohol within the UK is permitted). Shipments containing alcohol to destinations outside the EU may be subject to local restrictions
All Samsung Galaxy Note7 and Samsung Note7 devices
Antiques, works of art and fine art with an individual value in excess of £5,000
Banderols / tax stickers
Bullion (of any precious metal)
Cash (legal tender - bank notes, currency notes, coins) and traveller's cheques
Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco products and electronic cigarettes
Clinical and/or biological samples (including but not limited to bodily fluids and tissue samples)
Commemorative coins and medals with an individual or total shipment value in excess of £2000
Complete firearms, ammunition, explosives / explosive devices including inert explosives and test pieces, air guns, toy guns, tasers, replica and imitation firearms and firearm parts (including rifle butts, trigger mechanisms, screws/bolts etc which are manufactured for the sole purpose of creating a functional firearm)
Counterfeit goods in breach of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
Damaged or defective batteries (read more on batteries under 'laptop computers' and 'lithium batteries')
Dangerous/hazardous goods including but not limited to perfumes, aftershaves, aerosols, flammable substances, dry ice, biological substances, UN classified dangerous goods and any goods specified as such under International Air Transport Association regulations (“IATA”), the Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) or International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations

Furs
Human remains or ashes in any form
Hunting (animal) trophies, animal parts such as ivory and sharks fin, animal remains or ashes, or animal by-products and derived products not intended for human consumption, prohibited for movement by the CITES Convention and/or local law

Jewellery, costume jewellery, watches and objects constructed of precious metal and/or stones with a value in excess of £4,000 per waybill
Laptop computers – No more than 1 laptop computer per package. Each package may not contain more than 1 lithium-ion battery which must be contained within the laptop. No more than two packages per consignment. The shipment must not exceed £5,000 per waybill
Lithium batteries
All lithium metal batteries. Lithium metal batteries are generally non-rechargeable and contain metallic lithium
Loose lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries do not contain metallic lithium and are recharge

Option 1 – Express Courier such as DHL
As we all know, Express shipping such as DHL which is best for docs, small parcels or gift and urgent delivery. You can track and see all the updates. However, it’s a bit expensive, and you might need to pay customs in Destination. We send it Monday to Friday. If you have more than 100 kg, then it will be the best option. Normally it will be delivered to the airport. But if you want the door to door delivery, then we have options as well. It’s up to Airport only so you need to clear customs and duty yourself.
Options 3. Economic Air Cargo – (Hassle Free)
Economic Air Cargo is hassle-free, and it just needs to pick up from the major city of Nigeria. But its take from 7 to 15 working days. Sometimes, even more, it totally depends on airlines space and availability. We normally send each Thursday. It’s suitable for 10 kg and above shipment. We even collect the parcel in extra money. Packing Instructions
It’s your responsibility to do secure packing for all of your goods. It must include cardboard boxes with shrink wrap. We don’t accept a suitcase or any bag. We will charge you a minimum of £10 per box if it’s not as above.
Fragile Items
We take care of fragile items best to deliver to destination in safe and secure condition. As no airline or Courier Company take responsibility for it. So, It's the shipper’s responsibility to do Fragile Packing, and it must be marked as sensitive to avoid damage. If you cannot do it, then you should contact professional packers.
Volume weight / Dimensional weight
The volumetric weight of a shipment is a calculation that reflects the density of a package. A less dense item generally occupies more volume of space in comparison to its actual weight. The volumetric or dimensional weight will calculate and compare with the shipment’s actual weight to ascertain greater weight; the higher weight is used to calculate the shipment cost. The formula for calculating volumetric weight is length x width x height (cm) / 5000.
Volume Reduction
If a box has a limit of 30 kg and put only 10-12kg in that box, the airline will charge 30kg, not 10-12kg. For example, duvets, pillows, soft toys & so on which take more space than the actual weight. The best way to reduce the volume weight of your shipment is vacuum bags. You can suck whole air with a vacuum cleaner. However, it’s not suitable for Fragile, sentiments or Extra value items.
