Death Road Biking Tour in La Paz - Bolivia | Altitude Travel
The Death Road is one of the most unique activities Bolivia has to offer. Book Now:
Where else in the world can you cycle from snow-covered Andean Mountains all the way down to the entrance of the amazon jungle in a just a few hours? Internationally known for being the highlight of one’s trip when in South America, this exciting bike ride exposes some of Bolivia’s most breath-taking landscapes, beautiful mountains and sparkling waterfalls.
The Death Road, or “Camino de la Muerte” in Spanish, was cut on the side of the Cordillera Oriental Mountain chain in the 1930s and stretches for about 70km from La Paz to Coroico, connecting the Yungas(an ecoregion of the Amazon rain forest northeast of La Paz) to the administrative capital. From La Paz, the road climbs to around 4700 meters above sea level (over 15 thousand feet) at La Cumbre–in the Altiplano highlands- before descending to 1300 meters (4 thousand feet) to the Yungas, allowing travelers to experience an incredible change in both temperature and landscapes.
Surrounded by mountainous terrain and high precipices, the road gained its fame and name due to its danger and adrenaline-rush potential. In the 2000s, the modernization of the road and construction of an alternative one diverted the traffic and allowed for more safe conditions. Nowadays, this electrifying activity is suitable for both confident beginners and experienced mountain bikers of all ages.

I joined the death road touring tour. The height of the starting point is 4670m that is the highest place in my life. Many people died on the death road every year.
毎年、数多くの死者を出しているボリビアのデス・ロード
（死の道）8年程前には日本人女性も亡くなっています。
始点となるのは、4670ｍの地点。人生に置ける最高所の地点です。しばらく3400～4300ｍの滞在しているので、特に高ひどい高山病に襲われることはありませんでした。

If you come to Bolivia,you should join it. There are many travel companies,but I can recommend you to chose``Altitude Biking`` company. It is a safety company and Nice guides.
We can get the photos taken by staff and can get a cool T-Shirts. It is including lunch and dinner.

日本に来た事があり、日本は凄く良い国という人々、これから日本に行くのを楽しみにしているという人々ばかりで、仲良くなりました。

Bolivian Death Road Adventure
Every moto rider that has been to La Paz, Bolivia probably has had to take a ride on the Death Road
The road got its morbid nickname due to the extremely high number of fatalities that occurred on a yearly basis. Some sources say that at it's peak, there was an average of 300 deaths per year. It is most likely less now that a proper asphalt road has been constructed to connect La Paz and Coroico which makes the Death Road an option instead of the only path.
Watch our video and decide for yourself if the Death Road is as scary as it sounds.
For us, it was a bit narrow, a bit rough but it was worth it because the scenery is marvelous!
