Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Revealed at the 2017 D23 expo in Anahiem CA
STAR WARS IS COMING TO DISNEYLAND IN 2019 and your gonna get an exclusive look at the all new FULLY IMMERSIVE LAND from a GALAXY FAR, FAR, AWAY!
BONJOURNO!! Welcome to todays SoCal vlog. For today's Clamsploration we visit the
D23 expo in Anahiem CA. This expo is your one stop shop for everything under the mouse house. From the parks and resorts, to the big and small screen, to the princess, to the powerful superheroes of marvel, to even the tales told long ago in a galaxy far, far, away. The D23 expo has it all.
This expo is held every two years and wouldn't you know it this is quite a year for a expo. Now our main focus for today is to get an exclusive look at the new Star Wars Land coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019. Can You believe we get to see a scale model of the entire land!! Not only that but we get a name......STAR WARS: GALAXY'S EDGE!! How cool is that? It's almost as cool as seeing the model, well that's our first stop!!
Upon entering the parks and resorts pavilion we find nothing but Star Wars. Is that a bad thing? Before we can actually enter the pavilion we are greeted by a old slightly defective friend, that's right it's REX the former captain of the star tours Shuttle! Did you know that Rex will find new life in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge as DJ spinning mad tracks.
Upon gazing upon at a model of what is being built just steps from us and only two years away from opening, (at least in SoCal).
We learn about the story of the land-
its on the edge of charged space and it's a smugglers haven due to its remote location
We learn the rides-
First order vs the Resistance ride. This is what those AT-AT's are being built for. We even get to see a model of the ride vehicle that we'll be riding in!
&
Millennium Falcon ride. In this ride we'll get to pilot the most famous ship in the galaxy and depending on how well/poorly we fly the ship if will affect how we are treated in the land itself.
We also learn that the Disneyland design of Star Wars Galaxy's edge will have three separate entrances as opposed to Walt Disney Worlds two.
After staring at the the model for Star Wars: Galaxy's edge for longer the. We should have it's time to venture out of the pavilion and continue our Clamsploration of the D23 expo.
However we make a short stop to learn about a familiar race of creatures that will inhabit Star Wars Galaxy's edge.
Our next destination is to the Disney animated feature booth followed by the Pixar booth to learn about Their current and upcoming slate of movies. We even get to see some life sized models of the cars and as well as a certain superhero fashion designer who has a distain for capes.
After learning about what Disney has upcoming to the theaters we travel back to the Disney archives to witness some of Disney's work in the sewing department. On display are dresses from various movies from past live action movies.
Upon bearing witness to what Disney can to to make our favorite princesses and villains come to life on the big screen. We gaze upon what someone with a Lilly's love, elbow grease and determination can accomplish as we look at the cosplay offering abound on the show floor.
When we're done watching people show there love for the mouse we head back into the archives to drink up with those scurvy scalawags of the Caribbean. In the a tour of all things Disney pirates!! This covers all of Disney's history of the sword clad, rum swilling terrors of the Spanish mane. It's starts off early with the Alice comedies and continues onward thought that most famous attraction to the movie that was inspired by it and back to the Shanghai Disneyland ride that was inspire by the movie. It's a must see on the high Sea.
With a pirate song in my head and my head I then head over to the Disney Music emporium to ponder why vinyl records have made a return and why they Didn't have are work this cool when I was a kid.
Seein some of those MARVEL-ous records reminded me that that costumes, props and even a model of a tower were currently in display. So giving myself a superhero leap over to the marvel booth I checked out there offering before finally closing out my day.

Peter & Kitra adventure to D23 Expo 2019, the annual Disney fan convention at the Anaheim Convention Center. In part one of our adventure we take a look at the Disney, Pixar Animation and Star Wars pavillions, the interesting stuff for sale and on display at the D23 Expo Emporium, a pop-up Instagram experience called Uptown Disney, and we explore all the D23 Expo exclusive merchandise at the Disney Dream Store. And along the way we gawk and admire at all the interesting Disney cosplayers.

Come along as I avoid the first day opening Madness by arriving fashionably late and feeling very overwhelmed at this overall outstanding event. I absolutely did not visit any panels on this particular day but there was so much to do and so much to see it was so much fun! My highlight was definitely meeting Brian Hull!
