Think there's NO DRAMA in RV life? Think again! Our video highlights what happens when you choose the wrong campground to spend a week relaxing and unwinding! While we do give some consideration to user reviews, we don't always mark a campground off our list just because of a handful of poor reviews! Unfortunately, we paid the price this time and will now consider ALL reviews that pertain to power shortages and general upkeep! Let our mistake save you the drama of dealing with a park manager that thinks your big rig is taking all the power out of their park. One highlight that came from this huge inconvenience, is that our next campground, just outside of Glacier National Park, was able to accommodate us four days early! Thanks to getting kicked out, we got to see Glacier three times instead of just once, which we originally had planned! Oh, and our new campground had plenty of electricity for ALL of the rigs in their campground and was well kept!

Worst RV Campground Ever // (And How we Saved our Weekend!)
***SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, DENVER PA***
One of our biggest camping fears came to life this past weekend as we pulled into possibly the worlds worst RV campground. While the spots were tight, the sewer connections were not and we found ourselves in a bad camping situation pretty quickly.
After a confusing run in with some of the seasonal campers, we decided it wasn't worth the stress we had to save our weekend - and in this case we only had one option. To hook our Shadow Cruiser Travel Trailer back up and head home.
Currently holding the record for our shortest camping trip (19 hours between check in and check out) it taught us a lot about vetting campgrounds, when to call it quits, and what red flags to look out for when looking for a place to camp with our travel trailer.

Best Place To Camp In New Orleans! | Bayou Segnette State Park
Finding somewhere to camp in New Orleans or in the New Orleans area (without spending a ton of money) can be difficult. As we left Florida, we planned to stop at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. As we searched for a spot to camp in New Orleans, we found many were expensive or had very mixed reviews. That's when we decided to take a look at some of the Louisiana State Parks in the area. Bayou Segnette State Park fit the bill perfectly for what we needed. It is located 15-20 minutes outside downtown New Orleans and provided a great stopping off point for us to visit the National WWII Museum! If you need a place to camp in New Orleans, Bayou Segnette State Park might be the best (and cheapest) option in the area!

What we love about Chicot State Park:
1. Sites are large with plenty of space. Some are close together but arranged so living space is your own space. Wood views and some limited water views.
2. Many of the sites have decks. We loved our wooden deck!
3. Nice trail through the woods for walking, biking (can be muddy in places)
4. Kids' Trail - fun, short lighted path with plant and animal cut outs to find along the way.
5. Splash Pad
6. Kayak Trail
7. Cabins
8. Miles of roads for walking, running, and biking
9. Wildlife
10. Verizon service works well
What we didn't love about Chicot State Park:
1. Our site was a little sloped, but it worked out fine with using blocks under front tires. Some sites are sloped and some sites have drop offs. Check site photos when you reserve.

▶︎ Best Campground Down the Bayou
Stayed here for 3 months while working a travel nurse contract in Houma, LA. A small family-owned and operated campground where the owners were found on property daily. They go out of their way to ensure those staying there have a great time, this includes live music on the weekends, bingo, crafts, fishing tournaments, pool party with DJ, scavenger hunts and on-site RV repair by the owner. In addition the regular amenities include pool, small store, 8 washers and 8 dryers, WiFi, golf cart rental, boat rental, fish cleaning station, clean bathrooms with showers and pool bar and grille.
All sites have 50/30/20 electric with water/sewer, sites are all gravel and tight with some sites more level than others. Site size is not a problem during the week, because there is hardly anyone there. But even on sold out holiday weekends it is generally a quiet area. The higher the site number, the closer to the lake. Rows 1 and 4 are pull through while 2 and 3 are back-in. Rows 1, 3 and 4 allow the passenger side of the camper to face the lake.

You do need to bring your own grille as there are no charcoal grilles on site. The Wifi is spotty in certain parts of the campground.
If you are in the region, this is the best RV campground to stay in!
