Cox's Bazar To Saint Martin । Saint Martin Island Travel Guide। Saint Martin Tour. St. Martin's Island is a small island (area only 8 KM) in the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf peninsula, and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh. There is a small adjoining island that is separated at high tide, called Chera Dwip. It is about 8 kilometres (5 miles) west of the northwest coast of Myanmar, at the mouth of the Naf River. The first settlement started 250 years ago by Arabian sailors who named the island 'Jazeera'. During British occupation the island was named St. Martin Island. During the First Anglo-Burmese War between the British and Burmese empires in 1824–1826, rival claims to the island were a major factor. The local names of the island are Narikel jinjira which means 'Coconut Island' in Bengali, and Daruchini Dwip. It is the only coral island in Bangladesh.

Along with the Cox’s Bazar, Himchori has its own pretty special attractions with its natural beauty i.e. sea beach, mountain, waterfall and scenic view of amazing nature. The natural beauty of himchori cannot be expressed in words as I think. Himchori is located in Cox-Bazar district. Cox-Bazar/ Cox’s Bazaar is a beautiful/ amazing coastal area with a lot of mountains, longest, unbroken and sandy sea beach, fishing, sunset, sunrise, in a word best tourism place or spot in Bangladesh also a part of bay of Bengal.
All the places / areas of Cox’s Bazar district are breathtaking and very nice. Himchori had an Amazonian feel to it, with long narrow trees and greenery that I didn’t think existed in Cox’s Bazar district. Himchari, is really a hotspot/ tourist spot and attractive placed for visitors coming to Cox'sbazar, be it local or foreigner. Himchori situated about is 8 km a head (South) from the main beach Cox'es Bazar or 6 Km from the Kalatali beach by the green hill. The magnificent waterfall and green hills leading to the beach is a rare scene to enjoy. This place is ideal for a day picnic, sunbathing and relaxing. Thousands of people and foreign tourist visit this place each year. The best time to visit Cox’s Bazar for the full enjoyment is in winter. The himsory beach is more clam and relaxing place than Cox'es Bazaar. A lot of sea sight resorts already been constructed for enjoying the beauty of himchori. Therefore, accommodations for the traveler are now very less important matter. You can book hotels by online anytime. A lot of sea foods restaurants also available there and the price is reasonable and cheap. All those big or small/ expensive or cheap hotels/ resorts regularly arrange tour packages for the entire beautiful places in Cox’s Bazar.

Cox's Bazar/ Cox's Bazaar (কক্সবাজার) is a town, a fishing port and district headquarters in Bangladesh. It is one of the world's longest uninterrupted natural sandy sea beaches. The beach in Cox's Bazar is an unbroken 125 km sandy sea beach with a gentle slope. It is located 150 km south of the industrial port Chittagong. Cox’s Bazar is also known by the name Panowa, whose literal translation means yellow flower. Its other old name was Palongkee.

দেশের দক্ষিণে দেখা মিলবে উত্তাল ফেনিল ঢেউয়ের বঙ্গপসাগর বা বালিয়াড়ি সৈকতের ধারে ঝাউবনের মেলা। শ্যামল অরণ্যের ধারে সূর্যাস্তের খেলা! বন্ধুর পাহাড়গুলিও দেখবেন হাতছানি দিয়ে ডাকছে। আজ শোনাবো আমার কাটানো কয়েকটি সুন্দর দিনের গল্প। পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় সমুদ্র সৈকত থেকে আপনাদের স্বাগতম।
কক্সবাজার দেশের সর্ববৃহৎ পর্যটন কেন্দ্র বটে। হিমছড়ি থেকে লাবনী, টেকনাফ থেকে মহেশখালী, নৌকাপথ বা গাড়ী, ৫ তারকা হোটেল থেকে ঘাটের ভোজ, আমার যাত্রায় যোগ হয়েছে রোমাঞ্চকর অনেক কিছুই। পরিবেশন করছি আমার কক্সবাজার সিরিজের প্রথম পর্ব।

কথিত আছে, মুঘলরা আরাকান জয় করার পর, সম্রাট শাহ সুজা একবার যাত্রাপথে কক্সবাজারের পাহাড় সমুদ্র ঘেরা নৈসর্গিক দ্রিশ্যে বিমোহিত হয়েছিলেন। এক সময় এটি আরাকান রাজ্যের অঞ্চল ছিল। হাজার পালকি বা পালংকি থামিয়ে এ অঞ্চলে সম্রাট যাত্রাবিরতি করেন। কক্সবাজারের প্রাচীন নাম পালংকি। কোনও কালে হলুদ ফুলে আবৃত ছিল বলে একে পানোয়া বলেও ডাকা হতো। আরাকান, মুঘল, পর্তুগীজ, ত্রিপুরা হয়ে ব্রিটিশ শাসন। ব্রিটিশ মহাপরিচালক ক্যাপ্টেন হিরাম কক্স আরাকান শরণার্থীদের অধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠায় অবদান রাখেন বলে তাঁর নামেই একটি বাজারকে “কক্স সাহেবের বাজার’ বলে নামকরন করা হয়। আর সেই থেকেই কালক্রমে এই অঞ্চলের নাম হল কক্সবাজার। বাংলাদেশের সৌন্দর্যের লীলাভূমি।

Cox's Bazar (Bengali: কক্সবাজার, pronounced [kɔksbadʒaɾ]) is a city, fishing port, tourism centre and district headquarters in southeastern Bangladesh. The beach in Cox's Bazar is sandy and has a gentle slope; with an unbroken length of 120 km (75 mi), it is the longest natural sea beach in the world. It is located 150 km (93 mi) south of the divisional headquarter of Chittagong. Cox's Bazar is also known by the name Panowa, which translates literally as yellow flower. Another old name was Palongkee.
The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox, an officer of the British East India Company. Cox was appointed Superintendent of Palongkee outpost after Warren Hastings became Governor of Bengal. He embarked upon the task of rehabilitation and settlement of the Arakanese refugees in the area. Captain Cox died in 1799 before he could finish his work. To commemorate his role in rehabilitation work, a market was established and named Cox's Bazar after him. Unlike many locations in the Indian Subcontinent where place names dating from the colonial period have been changed, Cox's name is still retained in the city he founded.
Today, Cox's Bazar is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Bangladesh, although not a major international tourist destination. In 2013, the Bangladesh Government formed the Tourist Police unit to protect local and foreign tourists better, as well as to look after the nature and wildlife in the tourist spots of Cox's Bazar.
Inani Beach:
Inani Beach (also Enani Beach) is a sea beach in Ukhia Upazila of Cox's Bazar District, about 18 kilometers long. It has a nice view and has lots of coral stones.

Himchori Waterfall, Cox's Bazar is without a doubt one of the most renowned attractions of Bangladesh, being home to the longest sea beach in the world.

All the places / areas of Cox’s Bazar district are breathtaking and very nice. Himchori had an Amazonian feel to it, with long narrow trees and greenery that I didn’t think existed in Cox’s Bazar district. Himchari, is really a hotspot/ tourist spot and attractive placed for visitors coming to Cox's bazar, be it local or foreigner. Himchori situated about is 8 km a head (South) from the main beach Cox'es Bazar or 6 Km from the Kalatali beach by the green hill. The magnificent waterfall and green hills leading to the beach is a rare scene to enjoy. This place is ideal for a day picnic, sunbathing and relaxing. Thousands of people and foreign tourist visit this place each year. The best time to visit Cox’s Bazar for the full enjoyment is in winter. It’s a stunning and beautiful place to enjoy swimming, walking, and to observe sunrise and sunset.
