Mad River Glen Single Chair Webcam

Mad River Glen became one of Vermont’s first major ski areas when the Single Chair began carrying skiers to the top of General Stark Mountain on December 11th, 1948. From the very beginning, Mad River Glen has been a unique experience, where sport takes precedent over profit. In 1995, the Mad River Glen Cooperative was formed when skiers came together to purchase the mountain from former owner Betsy Pratt, becoming the first skier-owned mountain in America. In 2012, Mad River Glen became the only ski area in the nation to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Streaming live high definition video from the historic Single Chair at the base of Mad River Glen in Fayston, Vermont. Vermont Covered Bridges Courtesy of the Heart of the Village Inn in Shelburne VT

At this time of year, Vermont's fantastic displays of color are on display, along with some impressive covered bridges.

Begin by planning your route over a hearty breakfast at the Heart of the Village Inn. There are several covered bridges in Chittenden County alone, including the Holmes Creek Bridge, the Quinlan Bridge, and the Sequin in Charlotte, and the Brown’s River Covered Bridge in Westford.

Be sure to make the Shelburne Museum the last stop on your way back to the Inn. This covered bridge was moved and reassembled over Burr Pond. It’s now two-lanes, has a footpath, and the museum itself is a historic trove laden with exhibits and curios. Now, it’s time to snag some souvenirs and head back to the Inn for a good nights sleep!

Almost There: The Mad River Valley

An unscripted film about the community we call Vermont's Mad River Valley. We like to say 'they come for the mountains, but they stay for the valley.' In this video you will see local farmers, business people, tourists, barns, markets, craft beer, music festivals, skiing, kayaking, running, biking, swimming, golfing and more. Basically everything that steers our community toward the relaxing and enjoyable place it is. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy living, working and playing here in the Mad River Valley.

Stowe, Vermont Covered Bridge

We were in Stowe to check out the Fall colors in Vermont but it was super foggy that morning. We did stop to check out a stereotypical Vermont covered bridge before heading out of town.
