I got sick of seeing people being scammed by scammers selling fake cashmere and pashminas in India so I went and got scammed to show you how to avoid it and how you can buy real cashmere! Then watch the scammer lie through his teeth that what he's selling is 100% pure cashmere from Keralan monkeys - unbelievable.
Cashmere or Kashmir is the most luxurious wool in the world. It's produced in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India, hence the name. It comes from the neck region of cashmere goats who only shed once a year. It's known for being extremely thin yet warm. It's the most expensive type of wool in the world. But most small stores selling garments and handicrafts will sell you cheap silk or viscose at insane prices. They'll lie to you and tell you it's 100% pure cashmere or pashmina.
There are a few ways you can tell real cashmere. Firstly it looks like animal hair and not perfectly produced strands of wool. It's super light and warm compared to the fake products. And it always has a matt finish, it's never shiny like silk. Sometimes it is mixed with silk, but the label will tell you that if it's a cashmere silk blend.
At the end of the video, I go to confront the scammer and show you how to get a refund in India! It's no easy feat! They HATE giving refunds.

I got scammed in the most beautiful place in the world to be scammed by an Indian scammer on a boat! Is this guy the world's first pirate scammer? I kid you not. This scammers scam was to sell fake saffron to people.
Fake Saffron is a being sold across India by scammers at incredibly cheap rates! So I went out to find a scammer in the Indian state where saffron is grown, Jammu & Kashmir, and show you how to identify real and fake saffron.
I found this scammer selling fake saffron on the stunning Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir state is one of the highest producers of saffron in the world. He was selling it at ₹90 when the wholesale price is ₹180 and retail price is ₹250 per gram. I'll explain the 3 main tests to identify real saffron: smell, taste, and water.

SAVED FROM A SCAMMER in India (Beggar Scam Exposed)
Beggars in India will approach you all day long with a scam where they ask you to buy them expensive food items from a nearby supermarket. Find out exactly what they do with these items you give them and how you can really help people who really need charity in India.
Shot in Mumbai, this auntie and her entire family work the streets every day running this scam. During the scam, an Indian Nun came up to me to help me and stop me being scammed! She was terrific and demonstrates the lengths Indians will go to to help foreign guests in their country. This Nun actually knew the family and told me this women's daughters are being educated by her at a Christian missionary charity called Prem Dan.

Scam Shops in Pakistan & India - Don't Be Fooled!
While travelling in India & Pakistan you'll find shops that have straight-up copied a famous shop's name, and then, opened their store next-door to the original!
In this video, you'll see the original Grato Jalebi sweet store in Rawalpindi and there's a big queue because locals know it's legit. But just a few metres down the road are 3 copies with the same name.
Karim's in Delhi also has the same problem. There are many counterfeit Karim's restaurants.
These fake shops make enough money to stay open by simply fooling travellers.

Exposing India's Begging Scams (Beware!)
Have you come across these begging scams? Not all beggars are genuine; I expose 3 fake beggars in this video so you know what to avoid when you travel to India. The most common begging scams I've come across are the Ranipur calamity fake charity scam, fake medical bills scam, and fake donation collectors.
These scams can happen anywhere in India. Begging scammers commonly target tourist areas, busy intersections, expensive parts of cities, and railway stations. If you meet any of them, just say no and keep walking. Don't fall for their lies. These are professional beggars who are trying to trick you into donating money to a fake cause.
If you want to give to beggars, you need to verify their story. If approached by a beggar who claims to be in a dire situation, exercise caution. Ask questions and evaluate their responses. Genuine individuals in need might provide coherent and consistent explanations.
Trust your instincts too. If something feels suspicious or doesn't seem right, trust your gut instinct. It's better to err on the side of caution and refrain from engaging with potential scammers.
Spread awareness: Share information about begging scams with friends, family, and your community. Increasing awareness about these scams can help protect others from falling prey to fraudulent schemes.

The WORST Tourist Trap in India
This restaurant and souvenir shop on India's famous Golden Triangle route is the worst tourist trap I've ever come across! The souvenirs are massively marked up, their cruddy restaurant charges 5-star prices, and they're busy breaking the law by rubbing out the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) on their snacks too.
This video will also help you learn the basic prices for souvenirs in India. Always buy them from a market rather than greedy stores like these. Even your hotel's souvenir store will be a better option.

Cheeky Salesman Tries to Fool Me in Jaipur, India ????????
This salesman invited me into his shop in Jaipur, India, on the premise that I could get a hoodie for under 1,000 rupees. He then showed me hoodies that he said cost 2,500 rupees.
It was only later when I was able to get other locals there to translate, that I realised their real price was 600 rupees and he also talked bad about my mother.
Avoid this salesman if you see him at Bapu Bazar, otherwise be prepared to be ripped off and insulted by him.

Would YOU Trust Him? Dubai's Beggar Scammers EXPOSED
Dubai is full of scammers targeting tourists! Don't believe all the professional beggars you'll meet on the streets there. I bump into one in Bur Dubai and show you his exact script, then explain the difference between professional beggars and corner beggars run by gangs.
Beggars are sent to Dubai en masse just before Ramadam every year to pray on Muslims' goodwill during this time. Col Mohammad Akeel says, “Most of the beggars were visitors. They come down during Ramadan for easy money as they know people here are helpful and sympathetic. We have a team of officers to crack down on beggars at residential areas and near mosques. (Gulf News)
Bur Dubai is by far the worst place to experience scams in Dubai. You'll find beggars, magic potion sellers, counterfeit goods sellers, fake gold scammers, massage parlours galore, and more all at Meena Bazaar.
I reported this man to the Dubai Police afterwards. Report beggars by calling Dubai Police on 901 or Al Ameen Service on 800 4888. Report online via or Police Eye in the Dubai Police app.
Only donate to registered charities in Dubai. Charities are regulated in UAE so you can have faith your money is going to good use.

Singing & Dancing with ORPHAN SCAMMERS in India
I met these two Indian aunties scamming foreigners at India Gate by asking for a donation to a charity that doesn't exist. The scammer even showed me a stolen ID card that I called to verify her identity. I watched on as Indians from outside Delhi and Foreigners were approached by these two scammers donation collectors.
Giving money to charities on the street in India is extremely risky. You don't know if their identification is real or not. The best way to donate in India is via official websites of reputable charities. Please don't trust street collectors in India - it's a very common scam.

An island of scammers? Yes! Sitting in the outskirts of Chilika Lake in Odisha, India's largest saltwater lake, is a small island that scammers use to sell fake pearls and gemstones to tourists.
These scammers open up oysters, fill them with pearls, moonstones, and other gems, then glue them shut and try to fool you into believing you've struck it lucky when they open them in front of you. It's all an elaborate scam.
Never buy pearls or gemstones from people on the street (or random islands) in India. They're going to overcharge you and you'll be lucky if the jewels are real. Always buy from reputable jewellery stores in India.

Lying Blind Scammer in India (How to Avoid Sympathy Scams!)
I didn't expect to be scammed in Northeast India by a man pretending to be BLIND. I was busy filming the Ema Market shopping tour video in Imphal, Manipur when this guy approached me asking me to film his sad story about being blind and needing money to purchase all the medications the doctor had prescribed him. He even had the prescription to show me the costs!
As soon as someone starts asking you for money or bringing money into a conversation in India, you know it's a scam. Especially when they AREN'T blind and they have this fake prescription all prepared to show you.
They target Westerners and our sympathy. It's called sympathy scamming when they start telling you a big sad story to gain your sympathy and scam money from you while you travel around India as a tourist. It's very common in India.

Fighting Back Against Indian Parking Gang (How to Avoid Overcharging in India)
Overcharging can happen in any store in India, but car parks are notorious for it. There are even parking mafias in India who unofficially charge you for parking in illegal spots. These goons at the Haus Khas Village parking complex in New Delhi are real scammers. When you try to exit they'll always try to overcharge you!

To avoid parking scams, when you enter take a receipt with the time and price of parking. Upon exit calculate how much you owe them and stick to your guns when they try to overcharge you. If you put a fight, they'll give in and charge you the real rate.
Parking in Delhi is generally ₹20 per hour only. Actually, whatever you buy in India, always check the receipt for overcharging.
