Much as Chios is famous for its mastic, it is not the only “magic” one can find on this island.
Chios is a hospitable island all year round, the land that boasts beautiful medieval villages, extraordinary beaches and offers a world of images, colours, tastes and aromas.
Chios, Greece - 5 nights travel highlights 2022
I decided to go off the beaten path and visit the North Aegean Greek Island Chios! I stayed 5 nights at Maria Rooms in Agia Ermioni which was a lovely quiet area and perfect base to explore the southern part of the island. I had an amazing time checking out the small villages and beaches and would highly recommend the island as a gateway if you want to relax and/or be more adventurous and explore what the island has the offer.

Chios (/ˈkaɪ.ɒs, ˈkaɪ.oʊs, ˈkiː-/; Greek: Χίος, romanized: Khíos [ˈçi.os] is the fifth largest of the Greek islands, situated in the Aegean Sea, 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) off the Anatolian coast. The island is separated from Turkey by the Chios Strait. Chios is notable for its exports of mastic gum and its nickname is the Mastic Island. Tourist attractions include its medieval villages and the 11th-century monastery of Nea Moni, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Administratively, the island forms a separate municipality within the Chios regional unit, which is part of the North Aegean region. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Chios.[2] Locals refer to Chios town as Chora (Χώρα literally means land or country, but usually refers to the capital or a settlement at the highest point of a Greek island).
It was also the site of the Chios massacre, in which tens of thousands of Greeks on the island were massacred by Ottoman troops during the Greek War of Independence in 1822.

The MYTHICAL Island of Chios You've Never Heard Of
In the Aegean sea lays a mythical and mysterious island of Chios. Legend has it that Christopher Colombus and Homer are from the island. Also, it is notable for its production of mastic and small beautiful villages that thrive from it. On a day trip from Turkey, I visited parts of the island, including the village of Pyrgi, a volcanic stone beach, and a monastery. Here I provide a brief introduction to the 5th largest island of Greece.

This was the third outing for the drone and my first effort crack at using Premier Pro.

Ανεμόμυλοι Χίου - Windmills of Chios Island - 4K drone video
5 λεπτά από το κέντρο του νησιού βρίσκονται οι Μύλοι της Χίου χτισμένοι στην περιοχή Ταμπάκικα. Στα τέλη του 19ου με αρχές 20ου αιώνα, αναπτύχθηκε στη Χίο βιομηχανική υποδομή με σκοπό την κατεργασία δέρματος. Η κατεργασία γινόταν στα Βυρσοδεψία, τα οποία βρίσκονταν βόρεια της πόλης και δίπλα στους 4 ανεμόμυλους.
