Travel Guide 2018 Chile part 1 Wonderful Island
Chile is one of the best choises to your traveling. Chile is a sinewy sliver of a nation, isolated from the rest of South America (and indeed the world) by the soaring Andes to the east, the vast Pacific Ocean to the west, the bone-dry Atacama Desert up north and the impenetrable wilds of Patagonia down south. From its disparate extremes to the ever-trendier capital of Santiago at its heart, the country’s citizens will unite in 2018 to mark 200 years of independence. Thanks to new non-stop flights from both London and Melbourne, it’s never been easier to catch a plane, raise a glass of pisco sour and toast the celebration.
1. Santiago-Chile
Santiago is one of those metropolitan joys where the more you look, the more you find. Funky cafes and dance clubs dot Bellavista, Forest Park art collections range from pre-Columbian to contemporary, and architecture runs the gamut from the 16th-century San Francisco Church to mirrored office towers. Shop with the locals at Mall Panora¡mico and give your palate meals to remember with hearty Chilean fare.
2. Easter Island
Located in the South Pacific more than 2,000 miles off the Chilean coast, Easter Island’s not the easiest place to reach. (If you’re interested, the easiest access is by air from Santiago or Tahiti.) But isolation has helped preserve the 1,500-year-old mysterious congregation of volcanic rock sculptures (maoi) that’s the island’s biggest claim to fame. After exploring the unique landscape, relax on an uncrowded beach and ponder one of the most mysterious places on Earth.
3. San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
Looking for an unusual and beautiful landscape? Sandstone canyons, flamingo-dotted salt flats, steaming geysers, hot springs, volcanic peaks and alien-looking rock formations are on offer all around San Pedro de Atacama. Hiking, biking and horseback riding are the preferred means of exploration. Death Valley here is surprisingly great for picnics.
4.Puerto Natales, Chile
Proximity to the stunning Torres del Paine National Park makes Puerto Natales a gateway to adventure. It’s the best place to stock up on supplies and get your gear in order before you hop a two-hour bus ride to the park. This is an area for nature lovers, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, sailing and exploring.
5.Puerto Varas, Chile
Explore lovely, compact Puerto Varas on foot, the best way to take in views of Osorno Volcano and the wooden colonial homes built by German immigrants in the early 1900s. Several are designated as national monuments. Located on the shores of Lago Llanquihue, Chile's second-largest lake, the village is the low-key antidote to the Lake District metropolis of Puerto Montt and serves as a jumping off point for fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and sea kayaking excursions.

Puerto Varas Chile - Osorno Volcano to Puerto Montt | 80+ Countries With 3 Kids
Join us as we share one of our trips to Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt Chile!
We had the most beautiful day with blue skies which isn't always the case in this area since they usually get a lot of rain. We visited the Osorno Volcano which, with its daily snowmelt, feeds Llanquihue lake.

Chile 2018: traveling with kids
We spent February 2018 in Chile, the entire month of just traveling with children. We visited many places, among others multiple beautiful spots in the Atacama desert, Patagonia, Lake district, and central Chile. It was a fantastic trip, and the children were excited about it.

South America with kids - Chile and Bolivia
A kid's guide to Road-tripping the North of Chile, through the Atacama Desert, across the border in to Bolivia, & up to the Uyuni Salt flats: The biggest salt flat in the world, and the flattest place on earth.
Chile we self drove, in Bolivia we arranged our own accommodation, but used the Green & White tour company for transport, & their guide, Al, who we would highly recommend.

How we crossed the Atacama Desert from Chile to Bolivia | 85+ Countries w/3 kids
Our adventures in South America continued north from Puerto Montt to Santiago and across the Atacama desert.
The Atacama Desert is a plateau in Chile, covering a 1,000-kilometre (600 mi) strip of land on the Pacific coast, west of the Andes mountains. Its’ unique location between two mountain chains (the Andes and the Chilean Coast Range) is of sufficient height to prevent moisture advection from either the Pacific or the Atlantic Oceans and creates a two-sided shadow with almost no rainfall at all.
Another fascinating fact is that its soil and sand conditions are pretty much similar to that of Mars and because of that, NASA uses this desert for testing instruments for missions to the red planet. The Atacama has also been used as a location for filming Mars scenes, most notably in the television series Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets.

Port Stop: Coquimbo & La Serena Chile
We had a DIY day- taking the local bus to La Serena, where we enjoyed the market at the Plaza better than La Recova (which was a lot of the same junk).
We then went back to Coquimbo fish market, grabbing fish sandwiches at one of the many restaurants there!

Nossa viagem do Papai, Mamãe e as Crianças ao Chile! Rafinha com apenas 1 aninho se divertiu muito enquanto a Aninha estava na barriga da mamãe sentido todas as emoções desta viagem.
E o quinto dia da nossa viagem (15 de agosto de 2019) foi dia de BRINCAR NA NEVE no divertidíssimo parque Farellones! Lugar que com certeza foi o favorito do Rafinha!!! lá ele se esgotou de alegria com tanta atividade LIVRE para fazer (somente paga a entrada ao parque e todas as atividades são livres para fazer quantas vezes quiser), teve um sanduíche delicioso com a companhia de um cachorro local super simpático, voo de teleférico, snowboard, ski, brincadeiras na neve, e muita diversão escorregando nas boias, trenós e infláveis. Demais!
