We've had the fortune or misfortune rather to have rented 4 different places since we've been here for the past 2 years. Luckily there are rentals everywhere so don't be discouraged. . . The cost of living per month varies from person to person, taste, budget all play a role in how much you'll be spending a month.

We have been renting in Costa Rica for over 7 years. We have traveled all over Costa Rica and have lived in over 12 houses.
You can rent a house in Costa Rica for about $60 a month to $6,000 a month. It all depends on what you are comfortable living in and what you want you're comfortable with as your cost of living in Costa Rica.
There are many ways to rent a house in Costa Rica and it is NOT at all like where you are from.
It is much easier in my opinion to rent in Costa Rica than any other place I have ever lived.
You can find furnished apartments, furnished homes, long term rentals and short term rentals.
It is a little bit harder to find rentals in places with less tourist or very remote areas, but we have found them and rented in some of the most remote places in Costa Rica.
The rental tips we give you in this video will make living in Costa Rica so much easier when you understand a little bit about the culture and the difference about Renting in Costa Rica.

Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Central America. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with Latin America. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography.
