Explore Noumea On The Hop On / Hop Off Bus: Carnival Splendor Port Day
After 3 Nights/2 sea days from Sydney, the Carnival Splendor arrived at our First Port of Noumea, New Caledonia.
The last time we cruised to the South Pacific 6 years ago, we stopped at Noumea. That time we booked 2 x Shore excursions off the boat and it turned into a long hectic day and we didn't get a chance to see much of Downtown Noumea itself. This time we decided to catch the Free Shuttle bus into town, then use the Hop On/Hop Off bus to look around.
We did one loop, then went for a walk around the Central town area, followed by another loop on the Hop On/Hop Off Bus. This was a much more relaxed way to look around and also a LOT cheaper.

The ship went into dry dock in late October 2019 and will start sailing in Australia in late 2019.
Again, this is a pre-dry dock tour of Carnival Splendor.
Carnival Splendor was first launched in 2007 and was actually designed for another cruise line but halfway through construction, they transferred it to Carnival Cruise Line.
After the dry dock, Splendor will receive a lot of the popular Fun Ship 2.0 features that Carnival Cruise Line rolled out back in 2011.
Some of those include Guy's Burger Joint, RedFrog Pub, RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, Carnival Adventures shop, and a new Indian food concept.

Our Cruise to New Caledonia
On this cruise we sailed out of Sydney Harbour for 8 nights and stopped at Noumea, Lifou and Isle of Pines in New Caledonia before returning back to Sydney which we spent our final night in Sydney before returning to our home town in Brisbane.

Day 1 of our 10-day Carnival Spirit New Year's Cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. This is our second Carnival Cruise. We did an 8-day cruise in November 2018 and loved it. We knew we'd be back someday.
We embark on the 30th of December 2019. Of course, things don't always go to plan, but when you're cruising, you just roll with it.

Carnival Splendor Inside Spa Cabin Tour May 2019
Carnival Splendor is coming to Australia this December 2019 and will be cruising out of Sydney.
My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a 7-day cruise on Carnival Splendor last May 2019. We cruised the “Mexican Riviera” and stayed in an inside spa cabin.
The inside spa cabin is an excellent choice if you are looking to have an affordable, relaxing holiday on a cruise ship that is choc full of great features fellow Aussies will just love.
Although we cruised prior to the recent drydock updates in Singapore, I’m sure Aussies are curious to know about what makes this Carnival ship a truly unique and fun ship to cruise on. This series of videos will give Aussies an insight in to what they may expect once she is based in Sydney, Australia.
In this quick video join us on a tour showing the features of our inside spa cabin, together with a look at the special warm Thlassotherapy spa pool which is a benefit included in the cost of this type of cabin (there is also balcony spa cabins onboard). We took advantage of port days when the many passengers left the ship for the day, and we spent a of time relaxing in the fantastic spa.
Be sure to watch out for future videos highlighting the other onboard facilities, including the quirky decor (prior to the drydock update) and the fun and games onboard. I am sure you will agree, Carnival Splendor is a perfect match for Aussie cruisers.
