I was in Saint Martin and I got stuck there during the pandemic, because there was a total lockdown on the island.
How bad is traveling during the pandemic, and how did this lockdown affect my travels?
Well, I already lost 3 flighttickets, 2 expensive hotel reservations and a lot of money during this covid-19 virus, but it could be worse. This pandemic did not only hit the travelers world, but it hit hard on the whole world.
People get sick, people die, people lost their jobs and there are even people who lost their love ones because this pandemic brought a lot of stress that some of us could not handle.
The thing I have learned during this covid 19 pandemic is that our lives are short. Waiting for the end of this pandemic before having fun is throwing valuable time of our life away. The key is that we have to stay positive in any situation and make something out of our life in any situation.
So what was my option during this lockdown? Nothing much really. I could wait untill everything is going to upen up so I can enjoy the island again, or I can film the island during the lockdown so I will have a unique moment in my travelers life where I can look back at it.
It costed me some paperwork to make it legal for me to be on the streets during the filming, but finally on the last day of the total lockdown, I got permission to film this unique moment that you will never see again.
After the total lockdown, there was still a lockdown on the island, but it was allowed for the citizens to be on the streets and beaches from the morning untill the evening.
